Whatever her character flaws, she wrote against the things dear to you.

What she wrote against were fictional boogymen and how put upon a the wealthy feel. She came from a family on the losing side of history who like the clown brigade of today felt a sense of entitlement based on their class... and propped up the string of wannabe groupies who sided with them. They did what they thought would keep their lofty social perch they vilified the poor. Well... as usual what has been repeated time and time again throughout history they got their butts kicked because they were outnumbered and their social status was considerably reduced.
On the upside of reduced status was the opportunity for higher education. Something women were denied with the status quo she felt sentimental for. The higher education introduced her to philosophy, liberal arts and atheism the... things the republiclowns rail against and areas of study christians find personal affronts a plenty. Then there are her rape fantasies...
Of course the pig brains who frequent the DR and like the parts where the majority of people "out there" are seen as intellectually lazy wanting more than they deserve... and the wealthy are the idea people who are put upon by the leeches the surround them.
Her writing is two dimensional written like an angry little girl bemoaning the bad bad people who hate her for her beauty and a jealous of her because she has all the pretty dresses. The book has great appeal for those who are stuck in the petulant child mode and easily fall for the "us against them" victim mode. LIke the ----------- the clown brigade inserted into the political process, holding up the Fountainhead and spouting mean things against Kenyans
Am I against self pity, and rape... both states of victimhood. Yeah it gets on my nerves to be around idiots like that.. but what ever floats your boat. Do I think the majority of the world's population are leeches? No. Do I have a problem with wealth? No. Do I have a problem with progress and progressive thinkers breaking with conformity something also present in her stories. No not at all... but I know a lot of conservatrons who do... stem cell research is a prime example. Meanwhile nations like India whose religious proclivities find no problem using the bodies of aborted fetuses are outpacing us in in that field of study. Meanwhile here is the US they want to keep people talking against Planned Parenthood... a metter which was settled decades ago.
If there were truly republiclowns out there who embrace Ayn Rands political philosophy they would tell the religious whackos to get the hell out of their way and insist that their party stop pandering to them.
I am a person who actually read that book a couple times returning to look a specific chapters now and then... trying to figure out the current nut job rantings. Trying to find the magic. I have drawn the conclusion that its not a "Holy Grail" by any stretch of the imagination ... for one reason she spends to much time digging and complaining. Green Eggs and Ham has more value...even if the clown brigade totally missed the irony of it being used in the faux filibuster against the ACA. Pretty much like they miss the point of Ayn Rand... whose little girl bourgeois world had to be torn down and some amphetamines added in order for her to rise to the levels she reached... not to mention canoodling with a boy toy who is now popular in the new age sect.
