Both partiies need to stop calling it Obamacare. Obamacare is a fictional thing made up by the republiclown brigade so they don't have to deal with the issue of affordable care.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS OBAMACARE
As long as they talk about something that does not exist they can conjure up all sorts of spooky ghost stories and tales of woe. They are blabbering about things that don't exist.
Ask them about the Affordable Care Act they have no answers and no solutions because they haven't dealt with the facts of it.
The republiclowns need to grow a pair and deal with reality. The Democrats need to insist that they discuss openly what they object to about affordable care and why they think the Affordable Care Act isn't affordable. Right down the line. None of those silly vague abstractions like
its cohersion... because of the "penalty" ... which is so small its silly ... its not a firing squad... or a prison sentence.
The harm to small companies... fine you think that is what might happen... lay it out in specifics of how it could happen ... instead of generics... like cutting back hours. The line making a requirement is what... 50 workers? What will happen when a company with fewer than 50 employees declines to insure its workers. Look at the law and see what it says. What will happen if a company with more than 50 employees refuses to cover them?
Be specific using what is written in the law and not some doom and gloom apocalyptic op-ed wannabe treatise written by some journalist writing for a rightwing net rag to inflame the paranoid because that is what he / she gets paid for.
How about...everyones premiums will go u!. Like that hasn't been already happening. But more to the point get real no one has anyway of predicting the future. So if you can demonstrate in some way how it will happen in such a way that out paces all other costs of living ( which health insurance has already done) then by all means show the metrics and remember you are presenting a hypothesis because you are postulating a possible occurrence and not a fact.
Doctors will be leaving the country in droves? Oh really? US healthcare is relative to what we spend on it is mediocre compared to at least 35 other nations. Where are these doctors going to go to practice mediocre medicine and get paid what they get paid here?
Here is the thing about facts. Its not a fact until its happened. Even if it a fact in your head until it demonstrates in the real world its a figment of the imagination... like Obamacare is a figment of you imagination.
This brings me to the final point. The Affordable Care Act is law. In fact it has passed several legal hurdles set forth by constitutional law and is therefore constitutional. It is a fact. It is a constitutional fact. Even if Sarah Palin stands there shell shocked blathering on national TV that the supreme court has abandoned the constitution... with out saying how.
The republiclowns have had three years to write a law that would be a better option and came up with zilch, zippo, zip and nada. That is a fact. They have tried every legal political maneuver to stop it and came up empty handed. That is a fact. The right wing whackos have even thrown fiction on top of fiction at it and still come up with nothing. The old Kenyan, communist nazi death panels, robbing the rich turning us into another Greece diatribe hasn't worked and that's a fact.
Try dealing with the factual reality of it... the line item parts that send you running for the duct tape and plastic sheeting. You might get somewhere.
