A researcher used Telnet port 25 to take over hundreds of thousands of devices on the internet with weak passwords and run code on them to scan others, resulting in a distributed botnet that probed every IP address on the Internet in a matter of hours. He used the scan to produce data maps and a census of the Internet.

Harry, I don't even do online banking. I drive to the bank. I had a friend who lost his entire PayPal account one day, and another who got charged a massive sum from an online casino....

So no port 443 for me....
