The exchange occurred after an audience member from North Carolina, 30-year-old Scott Terry, asked whether Republicans could endorse races remaining separate but equal. After the presenter, K. Carl Smith of Frederick Douglass Republicans, answered by referencing a letter by Frederick Douglass forgiving his former master, the audience member said "For what? For feeding him and housing him?" Several people in the audience cheered and applauded Terry's outburst.

This is why the GOP has to split in two, with the "New GOP" of rich billionaires and the Tea Party of people like this guy.

Maybe Blacks will start voting Republican in another generation or two, after they've forgiven these assclowns.

You Republicans reading about this do understand that your brothers at CPAC are mean and crazy?

Split in two? No, Heliumrat, that is where the two sides of the GOP still find common ground.

They both find slavery perfectly acceptable.

For one side, they still embrace racism, whether openly or through code words. For the other, the side with money, they don't care what color the wage slaves are. Heck, long as the slaves still imagine they have freedom, the new plantation masters don't even have to feed and cloth the slaves themselves, just give them a paycheck of enough for minimal subsistence (not too much, to where they actually get ahead though), and they'll do all that for themselves.

Unrelated - how high putched is a helium rat? Does it sound like Sarah Palin at all?

Maybe they will wake up and see that their net worth and wages have gone down and their unemployment rate has gone up more under Obama that any time in the past and will vote your assclowns out of office.

I'm afraid that they're awake enough to note that soem prominent Republicans think they had a good deal while being slaves.

Why do at least some of your people think this, and why on God's green earth do they think announcing it to the Black populations helps their Party?

Hey, man. I'm just saying. People who really want the Jewish vote don't go around praising the utility of concentration camps. If you follow me.

You are on a roll, first you accuse Republicans of being in favor of slavery and now they favor Jewish genocide?

The original question was why some of your people can't keep their yaps shut, much less why it is they have to applaud and cheer.

Not my problem. Yours.

the whole lst decade or so of "conservatives" spitting, cheering, pissing, etc., amd now Sarah! talking about reality shows and generally being an obnoxious ass.... .

is just too surreal, in the most sickening sense.

Between rape, homosexual marriage, immigration and now slavery that ended a hundred and fifty years ago the GOP assclowns cannot keep their yaps shut. They are playing to the lowest base in their party. The more cheers they get from the redneck bigot crowd the better they think they are doing.

Can't really blame them when you have tools telling them they lost the election because they did not go far enough to the right. When you look far right (just like far left) you see the highly partisan fringe lunatics although the far left might not advocate that slavery was a good thing for Africans.

"At one point, a woman challenged him on the Republican Party's roots, to which Terry responded, "I didn't know the legacy of the Republican Party included women correcting men in public.""

LOL

From the update:

"Blacks should be happy that the slave master gave them shelter, clothing, and food."

Ironic how little this has changed and all it requires today is votes.

It's even harder than usual to take the Tea Party seriously when they give a soapbox to nonsense like this.
