Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

"The popular media narrative is that this country has shifted away from conservative ideals, as evidenced by the last two presidential elections. That's what they think. That's what say. That might be true if Republicans had actually nominated conservative candidates in 2008 and 2012," Gov. Rick Perry (R-Texas) said in his address at CPAC this afternoon.

Perry also slammed President Obama for undocumented illegal immigration being released from detention centers due to sequestration cuts.

"This president's posture, it'd be laughable if he hadn't taken it one step too far, dangerously releasing criminals onto our streets to make a political point," Perry told the crowd at CPAC. "When you have a federally-sponsored jailbreak, and don't get confused, that's exactly what that is -- when you've had a federally-sponsored jailbreak, you've crossed the line from politics of spin to politics as a craven form of cynicism."

I'm sure he is electable if he could just find the right race to run in.

Prescott Bush is running for assistant dog catcher or something. Rikkk could probably give him a run for the money, though it is in Texas and they tend to vote for the bigger idiot.

Maybe Texans should take voting tips from Michigan and California so we can have the same booming economies they enjoy and rosy forecasts everyone has for them.

"Obama supporters calling others idiots?"

Stock market up, unemployment down, housing prices rising, wars shrinking.
You can't handle the truth.

You can't handle the truth.

Can you, danni?

Stock market up -- when it reached it's peak under Bush you libs were tripping over yourselves to tell us that the stock market is no indication of the health of he economy. So what is your point about the stock market? Or is it time to play the "different rules apply for us" card?

unemployment down -- it's up from where he got it.

housing prices rising -- but far below their value from when he took office

wars shrinking -- would not be the case if he got his wish to stay in Iraq.

My state elected Rick Scott.
Both Dubya and Obama won second terms.
Palin and Ryan were VP candidates.
Dan Quayle WAS VP.
Biden IS VP.

Sadly, Perry is electable.

I'm sure Danni thinks there is no Federal Money being sent to those "Contractors". Those Rose Colored Glasses filter out spending.

Pretending the housing bubble didn't burst before he took office and that the resulting unemployment was because of anything he did makes you look dishonest Goat, you're usually a little better than that. Pretending too, that the guy who was opposed to the Iraq War from the beginning, who campaigned on his opposition to it suddenly wanted us to stay there longer is ridiculous. The Iraqi's decision to no longer give US soldiers immunity from prosecution just provided him a good reason to pull out more quickly. Must be sad to be so desperate for excuses to oppose the guy who is actually turning out to be a pretty good President whether you like it or not.

I don't need to pretend anything is better than it really is because I know it is much better than it was before Obama was President and from the looks of things, it will continue to look better and better for the forseeable future even as you whiners hope for bad things to happen.

I'm pretending nothing. I'm simply citing facts. Also, the economy has been on a roller coaster for years. That we are currently on one of the upswings doesn't mean it's been cured. It's just gives you libs a convenient time to crow.

it suddenly wanted us to stay there longer is ridiculous.

It's not ridiculous. It's true. Obama wanted to stay in Iraq but he was told by Iraqi leaders he couldn't. This has been proven a jillion times here. I think you and AU are the the only holdhouts who refuse to accept this fact. Why? How do you expect tobe creible when you refuse to accept a well documented historical fact?

President Obama's speech formally declaring that the last 43,000 U.S. troops will leave Iraq by the end of the year was designed to mask an unpleasant truth: The troops aren't being withdrawn because the U.S. wants them out. They're leaving because the Iraqi government refused to let them stay.

Obama campaigned on ending the war in Iraq but had instead spent the past few months trying to extend it. A 2008 security deal between Washington and Baghdad called for all American forces to leave Iraq by the end of the year, but the White House -- anxious about growing Iranian influence and Iraq's continuing political and security challenges -- publicly and privately tried to sell the Iraqis on a troop extension. As recently as last week, the White House was trying to persuade the Iraqis to allow 2,000-3,000 troops to stay beyond the end of the year.

Just make sure you pay your share of the Bill for all you consider better. Don't kick the can to future generations.

My generation paid in advance Wisgod. We've already paid for our benefits, y'all need to do the same. BTW, one of your heros was instrumental in setting it up so that we would pay in advance, Ronnie Raygun, if you don't like how it turned out you should probably look at him and his party for the reasons.

Growth last quarter = 0.1. Quarter before that was negative.

Yep, things are looking really peachy, danni. What was it you said earlier today about people not being able to handle the truth?
