Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman Marcia L. Fudge is escalating her campaign to urge President Barack Obama to pick African Americans for his cabinet, publicly releasing a letter that slams the first black president for a lack of diversity among his closest advisers. "The people you have chosen to appoint in this new term have hardly been reflective of this country's diversity," the Ohio Democrat said in the March 11 letter.

Privately, the relationship between Obama and the CBC has been complicated for a long time, with members complaining about social snubs and Obama's reluctance to address the high black unemployment rate head on.

Dear Barack,

Help a sister out. Hire some brothas. Or we'll kick your ass.

One Love,

'I'm half black? No way! I shoot low 80s and am currently a 6 handicap" - B. H. Obama

Cookfish caring about brothers in the cabinet? Is there an asteroid headed this-a-way?

The original headline sounds racist, CBC's Fudge Escalates Push for Obama Cabinet Diversity, the story can't be true.

Prime example of a minority that is against racism...........until it benefits her or her race. I wonder if she would think a group called the National Association for the Advancemnet of White People would be a racist group? Just sayin'

Sure, and if a white congress person said a POTUS' cabinet wasn't white enough it would be ok? Purely a racist stance.

Blacks voted for Obama almost 100%. Now he is picking up the ladder behind him.

Yet they would still vote for him near 100% if an election were held again today...

Kinda like voting for a mayor even though he's a crack addict and felon..

Curious. What is Obama's percentage of black cabinet members?

The % is too damn low, and the rent is too damn high. Not enough Blacks in the cabinet and not enough stakes in the freezer.

What would idiots like this do without identity politics? Try working on some real issues for a change?

Obama only loves the brothers/sisters that voted for him. He would have them in his cabinet if they were a bankster.

How many black can be stuffed into a cabinet?

That's racist.

I agree: How about Alan Keyes, Condi Rice, Allen West, and J.C. Watts?

I would think Obama would try to hire black Americans whenever he can. A good question would be, are there any highly qualified black candidates for those cabinet positions?

Obama has no need of someone to speak to him on behalf of Black America.

That is true, only half the time

What percentage of the population is black? A higher percentage of D.C. (government) workers are black than the percentage in the population.
Double up on affirmative action?

Re #20 - "What percentage of the population is black?" -

13.1% (US census)

How many cabinet members?

23 (Wikipedia)

How many black Americans?

3 (holder, rice, kirk)

Thus 13.0% of top level cabinet positions are held by persons of color.
End of Line.....

This whole premise is stupid.

The strenght of a cabinet shouldn't be determined by "diversity". It should be determined by the collective competence of each individual member. If the best for each position all shared the same skin color, so be it.

The left is obsessed with racial politics.
