A Maryland state senator has crafted a bill to curb the zeal of public school officials who are tempted to suspend students as young as kindergarten for having things -- or talking about things, or eating things -- that represent guns, but aren't actually anything like real guns.

A nationwide flurry of suspensions seemed to reach an absurd level recently when Josh Welch, a second-grader at Park Elementary School in Baltimore, Maryland, was suspended for two days because his teacher thought he shaped a strawberry, pre-baked toaster pastry into something resembling a gun.

Yeah, we all know how lethal those jelly bullets can be when fired out of a pop tart gun.

In related news, all students in American have been suspended from school for writing the letter "L", which when turned 90 degrees clockwise looks like a gun.

*Snark off.*

I'm sad my granddaughters will grow up in the PC nonesense I did not have to tolerate. What a large and wonderful part of America is being stolen from them.

Would you rather have a toaster you could get to, or a Pop-tart you couldn't get to?

It is sad it requires a law to stop stupid administrators from doing something that a little bit of commonsence would have given them the correct solution. The zero tolerance rules are as stupid as gun free zones.

"The zero tolerance rules"

Zero tolerance rules are written by people with zero intelligence.

Sorry Goat. We did grow up with it. Somebody had to stick "God" on everything to keep the godless Roosians from taking over the world and if you said anything positive about anything left of Tailgunner Joe, you were probably a commie. Then there were all those "space aliens hiding as Americans to take over" movies. You didn't see it because you bought in to it.

Northguy finds a way to divert to, and thereby blame, God?
I am going to chew a piece of rye bread (they are on to poptarts, now) into the shape of a gun and track North down, because it is certainly a deadly weapon and he will be at my mercy.
