How fast can you build a building? With concrete canvas, a building can be completed on the spot in no time. Once the structure is inflated, saturated with water and left to harden overnight, it becomes a functional, insulated building that's strong enough to stand on. National Geographic reports that this type of structure has great implications for emergency response and locations with limited building resources and generally unsafe housing construction.

Cool! Kinda looks like Pac-Man. It really could be a boon for disaster areas.

Amazing story. I wonder how much each canvas costs. Being able to put them up in a place like Haiti after a natural disaster would have a huge impact on relief efforts.

Make a nice storage shed. You could even reinforce it from the inside, then cover it with dirt to make a great cellar.

We used to soak bath towels in plaster of paris and then drape them over various items covered in vaseline. Then we would remove the towels after they hardened and painted them different colors. The resultant sculptures were way cool. My 4th grade art teacher was so cool.
