This is the third day of Spring Break in PCB. Sadly a 20 year old young man died overnight and was found this morning. Alcohol related = Drank himself to death. Heartbreaking for his family and sadly it will not teach a damn thing to the other Sprink Breakers.

Yes, sometimes we forget that even idiots have a mother and father.

When i hear stories like this I always think of how many times, during my 'indestuctible' years, I pushed the limits.

Unfortunately, there are basically three reasons young folks (my previous self included) push the limits like this; 1)serious anger and other feelings of being 'disconnected' 2)a deep desire to achieve awake unconsciousness, 3)for the peer affirmation that appears to come with being 'that guy' that snorted a whole 8-ball or that guy that drank a whole bottle of Jack Daniels. I had all three problems.

The greatest thing I ever taught my children (who are all grown with children now), was not, 'don't do drugs - don't drink', but rather, 'if you drink or do drugs, be smart about it because drink and drugs are dangerous and should be approached like any other dangerous activity'. A funny thing happened. Since I didn't forbid it, none of them did drugs or drank too much.

A police chief is wanting a max of only 7 bullets magazine for guns.

Sure thing,as soon as they ban all sticks, that were responsible for the first killing.

This morning I lucked out and was able to buy several cases of ammo.
On the way home I stopped at the gas station,
and this drop dead gorgeous blonde was filling up her car at the next pump.

China is actually reconsidering their one child per family policy. I'm not sure why. Maybe they think it worked and balanced the ship. Either way, banning multiple children within families could be a start for you, TT101.

I think the 442 is a tad bigger than a Monte Carlo. If you mean engines, Chevy had 400, 427 and 454 cu. in. engines. The 442 was an Oldsmobile Cutlass model with, depending on model year, a 400 Cu.in engine, but different than the Chevy 400.

Speaking of Tuna, it's the one fish that tastes better raw to me. Every once in a blue moon, on a trek into The Big City™, I'll pick up a fillet or two. Mix a little wasabi, sushi ginger water, and Vietnamese Fish Sauce in a Chinese dipping dish, and go to work on it.

Beats spending $50 at a sushi bar. ☺

Yeah, I know it's high in mercury, but with all the lead sinkers I melted on the stove as a kid, I'm more concerned about that did than anything...

...not to mention all the solder fumes I inhaled.

But, tuna's evidently OK to eat a few times per month.

#67 I tried sake once a long time ago at a Japanese restaurant (on the southbound I-45 feeder road in the Woodlands, TX). I was surprised I didn't like it, it being alcohol. But, it triggered a mild gag reflex, so I haven't tried it again. It tasted like warm cooking sherry to me.

Smoked Tuna is great. It takes a small signature loan from the bank to buy it in any appreciable amounts around here. I have a friend in the Pac NW that used to send me a small package of it for Christmas.

#77 I told this story about 6 months ago, but a woman from Ireland, who worked for the same company I did, came to Waco to learn an analytical test I did. She stayed at the Hilton and said it wouldn't even pass for a one-star accomodation in Europe.

Yep. Just about the only place that carries fish, besides catfish, is Long John Silvers around here. Some of the snazzier places have swordfish and salmon, but people start looking at you out of the corners of their eyes if you order it. ☺

I'm into watching Amish Mafia and GoldRush, and there's been some pretty good shows lately on Discovery and the History Channel. I enjoy a number of the cooking shows on Food Network and the Travel Channel (best this and best that places to eat). Saw ONE episode of "Gypsy Sisters" and wanted to puke -- too loud and screechy. Any of y'all ever watch "Undercover Boss"? It's fun when you're in light-hearted mood. And what ever happened to "Big, Rich Texas"? Is it still on the air?

Organize one and if you get enough people to show up I might make the trip. Lisa tried it a few years back but didn't get that many takers. Maybe now it'd be different since everyone has now been around here a lot longer. I'd need to get a concealed weapons permit first, though. lol

Having already been convicted of criminal activity in Louisiana, recidivist law-breaker James O'Keefe is now shelling out a hundred grand to one of his victims in the notorious ACORN affair.

ACORN employee Juan Carlos Vera was surreptitiously videotaped (for which criminal charges are still pending) and falsely portrayed as offering assistance to O'Keefe's phony endeavor to transport underage girls from El Salvador for the purpose of prostitution. Unbeknownst to O'Keefe, Vera had notified the police after his encounter with O'Keefe. But O'Keefe posted his fraudulent and heavily edited videotapes anyway with the help of Andrew Breitbart. It will be interesting to see how Breitbart News covers this breaking story – if they do so at all.
