North Korea threatened Tuesday to nullify the armistice agreement that ended the Korean War in 1953, citing U.S.-led international moves to impose new sanctions against it over its recent nuclear test, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported. The North's military said it will also cut off direct phone links with South Korea at the inter-Korean border village of Panmunjom, Yonhap said, citing North Korea's news outlet.

The fighting ended on 27 July 1953, when the armistice agreement was signed.

That's funny, one of my dad's Bronze Stars is dated 19 June 1954.

Free Pyongyang! Unite Korea!

We need to go over there and finish them once and for all. I bet they have oil and don't even know it.

I blame Rodman. I bet he convinced Kimmette victory would be a "slam dunk"! (Sorry for stealing your marketing line, Republicans).

I'll bet if you used the Googles you could figure out why, Copernicus.

How old is he, like 12? He probably thinks he simply hacked into WOPER and is playing "Global Thermal Nuclear War" instead of a nice game of Tic-Tac-Toe

Why talk about it?...it's easy to nullify the armistice agreement...just start shooting again.

Should be a cake walk for lil Kim to stroll across the border.

I am sure the South Koreans will welcome them with chocolates and flowers.

Don't even joke about it, we have Neocon lunatics who would happily send young Americans over there to fight another very profitable war. Haliburton stands ready.

This comes from the reality that the PRK is lagging further and further behind the south, economically, militarily and culturally. Communism is an abject failure built on lies and maintained by terror. North Korea must maintain a state of war to keep control of a impoverished and hungry population. Remember George Orwell's credo "War is Peace". The sad fact is that they believe their own propaganda. The power elite of that country live in one city, I doubt their command and control would last more than an a hour after they launch an attack on the US. The US still maintain and operates around 30 boomers- each holding over 50 bombs that can level a city. The only bright spot in this sad mess is that their weapons only work about half the time, ours are tried and proven. Not a situation that enhances a lot of confidence, at least to a sane individual. There is the rub.

South Korea must really love the constant threats. One of these days...

SK isn't going to do anything. Too much to lose. They have 25.6 million people sitting within range of tens of thousands of the worlds most heavily entrenched 170mm to 240mm artillery pieces. They can't flatten Seoul completely, but they can certainly do major damage and cause mass casualties.

Too bad we are so broke from the last two illegal wars to even buy a paperclip much less afford another "war on terror" that might hold some merit to go in.

Judging by the smal l% of their GDP they spend on defense, they don't seem to give a rat's hiene. As long as Uncle Sam keeps pouring that milfare into their country while they scru the US manufacturers, they're be happy.

America might not have a ton of money sitting around and frankly that should scare North Korea.

Why?

Because It costs a lot less money to carpet bomb a country with m.o.a.b.'s than it does to invade it on foot.
