sequester eve answer? sure..spend 50 million on new clothes

The impending sequester did not prevent the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) from acting in late February to seal a $50-million deal to purchase new uniforms for its agents--uniforms that will be partly manufactured in Mexico.

Soon after this new investment in TSA uniforms, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano warned Americans that the lines are already lengthening at airports due to the sequester.

"We are already seeing the effect on the ports of entry, the big airports for example," Napolitano told Politico on Monday. "Some of them had very long lines this weekend."

This is a curious situation. The White House is shutting down it's tours allegedly due to the sequester.

This comes just shortly after it was requested that Joe Biden be paid more.

Here is an idea. Cut Joe Biden's pay in order to keep lower paid staffers on staff to run tours. Should not the American people have access to their facilities?

What's funny is,

The sequester doesnt cut the baseline budget, it only stops increases in spending.

There is no reason for certain things to be getting cut. This could be spread elsewhere to where it would not be felt by the American public. This is all a dog and pony show...

report is that each tsa person gets these worth ONE THOUSAND BUCKS AN AGENT...

wouldnt some of you like to get TAXPAYER money for that..

#8 There is no baseline budget. At this point, everything is increase in spending.
