O'Brien said, "The whole thing nearly got canned when there was a change of head at Fox. Yet, later, this one movie would keep that studio afloat for three years. It's gone into cinema history. I think you could say it's the No 1 cult classic movie of all time."

He added, "I didn't think it would be a hit. I thought we'd have our three weeks of fun on the Royal Court's upstairs stage then move on."

I saw this at several midnight showings, (Like a years worth of Friday midnight showings in Coconut Grove) in the early 1980's and the audience participation is what makes the entire experience great, well that and the theater had a bar.

I first saw it at a midnight show, at the Biograph Theater, the same theater John Dillinger was killed coming out of, by the FBI.

Overrated kitsch nonsense, although I admit my Great Aunt Peggy, God bless her Irish soul, was a cast member.

Singing in the Rain there for normalcy.

One of the greats. Fun part is trying to catch the cuts in the dances. And yay for Rocky and the fans.

Meat loaf was the bomb, best part of the movie.(He was also in the stage show). Me and my friends used to get high as a Georgia pine and go to the show Saturday nights at midnight, a good time had by all. It was fun till the gays started screwing in the theater and ended the showings.
