Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, March 04, 2013

Jeff Turrentine, Slate: Pssst! Have you heard about Agenda 21? The secret plot to collectivize private property -- hatched by United Nations internationalists and midwifed by operatives ensconced within our own government -- all in the name of "ending sprawl" and "encouraging sustainability"? The seizure of suburban homes by jackbooted, gun-toting U.N. thugs? The involuntary relocation of displaced suburbanites to cramped dwellings in densely packed cities?

No? Seriously? You haven't heard about any of this?

Don't blame Glenn Beck. His magazine, The Blaze, put Agenda 21 on the cover of its January/February 2012 issue; the article contained therein, its editors promised, would expose "the global scheme that has the potential to wipe out freedoms of all U.S. citizens."

Obama will not abolish suburbia.

High petroleum prices will abolish suburbia.

"High petroleum prices will abolish suburbia."

Nope. My father spends $600 a month on gas driving to his pecan orchard every day (1 hour there, 1 hour back). Yeah, he complains, but that's about $3000 a year for $50,000 in income.

To you, it may seem like a lot, but to the middle class it's just a drop in the bucket, or people wouldn't still be buying SUV's and large trucks.

The redistribution of $1.4 billion each year spent on the Obama family last year is the total cost of the presidency, factoring the cost of the biggest staff in history at the highest wages ever, a 50 percent increase in the numbers of appointed czars and an Air Force One running with the frequency of a scheduled air line.

Perspective: $1.4 billion is equal to spending seven times Mitt Romney's entire net-worth every year. If Romney had to pay for Barack and Michelle's lifestyle this year, he would have been bankrupt by the third week in February.

Now, can we please get back to talking about the evil, freeloading rich, who didn't build anything?

Had Bush been impeached for his un-Constitutional actions it would have caused all future Presidents to back-off, instead of pushing for more power at the expense of the citizenry. I'm all in favor of Congress pushing back on the imperial Presidency through the use of impeachment. It's why we need a politically divided government.

More on "Agenda21":

agenda21conspiracy.com

Agenda 21 is Sustainable Development, and was created through the United Nations. It is the blueprint for depopulation and total control, under the banner of saving the environment. It is like the head of a beast that has thousands of tentacles, originating from the United Nations.

The 3 primary tools that are used are:
Man-made global warming
Water shortages
Endangered Species Act

We all want clean air, water, land and food, but phony environmentalism is designed to create fear in order to implement the policies of tyranny. For example, the Globalists used global warming fear mongering in order to usher in the Cap & Trade and carbon tax schemes without debate.

The Globalists use governments and other major groups (NGOs - Non-Governmental Organizations) to force their policies. When you understand Agenda 21 Sustainable Development, you can recognize it in your neighborhood. Because the collectivists' battle to take control is from 'Global to Local', you can affect the world by taking action locally when you understand the rules and tools they use.

The purpose of this website is to explain the problem and then to provide models of success that can be replicated in your neighborhood to overcome Agenda 21. We can morph our neighborhoods locally, and then expand freedom globally.

Individuals do have power. Our future history starts now.

Georgia state Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers recently convened the Republican caucus at the Georgia State Capitol to discuss an alleged conspiracy between President Barack Obama, non-governmental organizations, state government entities and chambers of commerce to create a United Nations communist dictatorship.

Mother Jones‘ Tim Murphy on Wednesday reported that the meeting had included a presentation by Field Searcy, a conservative activist who was booted from the Georgia Tea Party over conspiracy theories about Obama's birth certificate and the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

It is amazing how people this stupid end up being elected over and over.

The most funny part of this is that, in order to buy in to the idea that suburbia will become too expensive for commuting because of high energy prices, completely negates the entire concept that free markets are the mothers of invention. I still believe that they are, if there is demand for cheap transportation, cheap transportation will happen. It may not look like today's transportation but Mommy and Daddy will still be able to commute via whatever transportation vehicle makes the most sense. Daddy may get on a bus, he may car pool, he may buy an electric vehicle, or he may be transported to work via a Star Trek transporter. If there is a market someone will come along to satisfy it. Energy prices may need to rise even more though, I don't promise it will be cheap.

have they questioned why "free health care" is gonna cost so much?

are they stumped by lack of a vibrant middle class in socialist nations?

Um, some bureaucrat in DC doesn't, though there is probably some impact given the way money flows. We pack their lunches (and one goes to a private school, so there's no gov't involvement to speak of).

As an American I believe Agenda 21 should be opposed. I further believe that America should divorce the United Nations, save billions of dollars, and rediscover our constitution and bill of rights.

I've read the book. (And I have serious doubts that the movie is any good. Hollywood doesn't have the balls to depict what is depicted in the book. I'm fairly certain it's all cleaned up and the people made pretty.) How about you explain its connection directly, rather than title-dropping? What in Agenda 21 is parallel with the book? And how exactly does Agenda 21 ruin anyone's rights? I don't know enough about it; I'm seriously asking. You like to drop little paranoiac comments. Maybe you should try developing an argument. There are also groups that believe in getting rid of one-family houses (voluntarily, by moving to these sorts of communities). Are they Hunger Games creators (not Creators), too?

I mean I can't be the only person that finds that to be circular hypocrisy, which seems to be the new norm in explaining things. Say its a conspiracy that this does something negative, then go on to explain how the negative is such a good thing. Sad part is people just eat it up.

The suburban lifestyle is completely maintainable, especially given our current population growth rate. A gas prices rise over the next decade or two, alternatives to gasoline will begin to dominate the personal vehicle marketplace. Hydrogen, all-electric, bio-fuels, as well as hybrid vehicles, which are already showing promise, will become more commonplace and the suburbs will merrily live on.

Its easy to point at the present and claim the sky is falling..... its another to offer a solution and take it on the chin. He is no different than Ray, which Nulli used to debate to no end. But today Nulli and Ray would get along famously they have the same philosophy, the end is near..... cats and dogs living together....

One day Knuster will be right about something and his followers will applaud his psychic prowess.....

What he is good for is looking at the world outside the Matrix, giving a man perspective, but don't take it as gospel regardless of "facts to back it up".....

On a side note, Paul Rand is doing an honest to god filibuster over the domestic drone usage.....anyone anyone?
