Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, March 03, 2013

In his first TV interview since losing the presidential election, Mitt Romney said on Fox News Sunday that it "kills" him not to be president. "I wish I were there," he said. "It kills me not to be there, not to be in the White House doing what needs to be done." Romney also said that his "47 percent" remark was poorly expressed. "You know, when you speak in private, uh, you don't spend as much time thinking about how something could be twisted and distorted," he said. "That hurt. There's no question that hurt and did real damage to my campaign."

Oh, Mitt, do everyone a favor: just go away.

Better yet, keep creeping back into the diminishing limelight to explain what you really meant with your 47% remark. Who knows, the DNC might even send you a fruit basket or deluxe gift box of Omaha steaks.

Romney also the "47 percent" remark, calling it an "unfortunate statement." "It's not what I meant. I didn't express myself as I wished I would have.

Then why did he and his surrogates spend so much time defending his statement?

"Romney did confirm during the interview aired Sunday that she was asked to appear on the ABC show "Dancing With the Stars" but felt she was not in good enough dancing shape.

"I did consider it," she told Fox host Chris Wallace. "I love the show."

"I would've loved to have done it, and I am turning 64, and I started thinking about it. I'm not really as flexible as I should be. And now I know -- I understand, Dorothy Hamill has been picked, and I thought,'Oh my gosh, am I glad I didn't do that!' I wouldn't want to compete against Dorothy!"

She also said that "I am happy to blame the media" when asked about the reason for Mitt's loss.

The U.S. will continue like a large ship in an ocean tempest without an anchor and without a captain for 4 more years drifting aimlessly----maybe at the end of the 4 years, the passengers totally sea-sick might decide it's finally time to put a captain in place with some experience.

Stock market all time high.
Housing prices rising.
Unemployment slowly falling.
Manufacturing steadily growing.
Exports up.
Inflation 2% or less.

He inherited Dubya's mess and he's slowly cleaning it up, but it was one huge mess to have to clean up. Next year troops home from Afghanistan. We're already out of Iraq. Good things happening. Makes Republicans feel miserable.

Seriously? Etchy couldn't find one idea or policy he could stick with, except Rafalca needed a tax cut.

The U.S. will continue like a large ship in an ocean tempest without an anchor and without a captain for 4 more years drifting aimlessly----maybe at the end of the 4 years, the passengers totally sea-sick might decide it's finally time to put a captain in place with some experience.

#14 | Posted by matsoP

While there is ample evidence you don't know what you're talking about, at worst, Obama still beats Etchy's dang the rocks, full speed backwards. And what's Etchy's greatest governmental success? Getting lots of pork, tax increases AND socialized medicine.###

I mean unemployment is down, fuel prices are low, iran is not a threat, the debt is being cut in half, food stamp dependence is down........."

...and N. Korea is giving up its nukes and ballistic missiles and nobody was killed in Benghazi

Let's see, Jest. Unemployment is down, fuel prices still suck but I remember righties telling us the President couldn't do anything when they skyrocketed under Dubya and NK built and detonated its first bomb while Bush was p!ssing away America's resources in Iraq.

As for Iran, it's still not a threat to anybody who doesn't need to hide under his bed during thunderstorms, but Etchy's sure to be botched "liberation" of Iran, not to mention his "re-liberation" of Iraq would already have made Benghazi look like a picnic. And even if that foreign terrorist attack had occurred, you righties would have treated it like you did ALL those Embassy bombing under Bush (poop happens, no biggie). After all, you treated the big 9-11 (1000x as many killed AND IN AMERICA)like it was just a broken window or something as far as Bush was responsible.

Have we called him a time-travelling Kenyan muslim commie yet? You know, like his campaign called Obama?

Suck it up SAMES1, you guys finally found a candidate that made Bush look credible and trustworthy.

In fairness, it is hard to slam Etchy. At some point in his career of running for President, he has held positions to the left of Ted Kennedy.

Antithesis? More like we don't need a deity to tell us that this guy who hid his money in overseas bank accounts and outsourced thousands of jobs did not ever have our best interests at heart. It's a good thing he lost, America is a better country because of it and yes, I hope it hurt him dearly, this crony capitalist SOB deserves much more than just the loss, he deserves to feel some of the pain he had dealt to hundreds of thousands of American families.

Man up and be accountable for what you said. Nobody twisted your words. The exact quote was presented exactly as you said it.

Either stand behind your words or admit you were wrong.

"I was misrrepresented" is just a way to push responsiblity on everyone else. And its a lie.
