I would warn the DR gun-haters about this slippery slope, but they DON'T CARE. They WANT everyone to give up ALL their guns and become easily herded sheep, dependent on others for their safety.

About those magazines:

"NEW VIDEO CRUSHES MYTH ABOUT LARGE CAPACITY MAGAZINES"

"BELLEVUE, WA – A new video obtained by the Citizens Committee for the Right to keep and Bear Arms destroys the myth surrounding so-called "high capacity magazines" by proving that determined shooters using smaller capacity magazines can fire just as fast, and in some cases even faster despite having to reload.

The startling video demonstration, conducted under the supervision of Boone County, Ind. Sheriff Ken Campbell and funded by ArmaLite, "throws cold water on anti-gunners who argue that magazine limitations are necessary to prevent mass shootings," said CCRKBA Chairman Alan M. Gottlieb.

One of the things that makes me shake my head in disbelief is the apparent lack of awareness by the anti-gun crowd of "jungle style" use of box magazines.

Hmm... I registered my guns 20 years ago and still have them all.

What a joke.

Well it happened in the USA already,I guess you forgot about even recent history when this was done to Americans. Forget Katerina? How about

What about California, couldn't make up it's mind if the SKS was covered or not (1989), decided AFTER the registration period was closed that they needed to be registered, declared a second 'grace period' for registration...then about 5 years ago they decided that those SKSs registered during the grace period were illegal because the grace period was illegal, and in certain cities and counties sent law enforcement to the listed addresses demanding surrender of the firearm. (Cities and counties later on offered compensation for anyone who had a receipt, but the police weren't giving out receipts, only a few people who demanded them had them and they were basically notes scribbled on whatever spare paper the officer had)

Registration lists have led to gun confiscation in Australia, Bermuda, Cuba, Germany, Britain,Cuba, China, Russia,New Zealand,Canada,Jamaica, Soviet Georgia. All of those countries had required full registration of firearms and have confiscated firearms. So yea their claim is complete bull.

I meant your claim was complete bull, not theirs. It has happened in several US states in US history.

All of which aren't the USA. Continue with your mindless rant.

there is no other reason to "create a list" (register) than to know where they are when you go to collect

Either you are blind to the facts or your history. Guns have been illegally confiscated a number of times in the US.

In California Roberti-Roos Assault Weapon Control Act of 1989 that created
all the confusion with the various models of the SKS is now creating
confusion again. This time, however, the debate won't just be over what
gun should be confiscated. It will be concerning the registration
deadline of the firearms mentioned in the Roberti-Roos law.

In the mid-1960s the City of New York started a registry of rifles and shotguns. Officials promised throughout the registration process that the information would never be used to disarm law-abiding citizens. Despite those assurances, the city banned and began confiscating many of the registered weapons in 1991.

The Firearms Control Regulations Act of 1975 was passed by the District of Columbia city council on September 24, 1976. he law banned residents from owning handguns, automatic firearms, or high-capacity semi-automatic firearms, as well as prohibited possession of unregistered firearms, those who refused their firearms taken by force.

Need I go on. It has happened even early then this.

I'm curious, why wait? I bought, traded and sold lots of guns while the registry was active. Kind of a pain, but not that big of a deal.

I think the only thing I gave up from the 1995 laws was my Mini-14.

"I just avoided it all together!"

Not if you held off buying something you wanted for all that time?

That said, the registry was a pain in the nuts and I'm glad it's gone.

I don't know anyone who ever had anything "confiscated" though.

No.nor do I,one of my neighbors who has a long standing record of domestic disputes , had his rifles taken by the rcmp as a precaution after a fight with his wife,he wrote them off as none were registered and he was just waiting to get charged for that too. I ran into him at the corner store the other night and asked him about what ever happened, and he told me after a year they called him and told him to come and pick them up as they were just taking up room in our small town police station...kinda makes one think eh?

I've seen them do that here too... then give them back a month or so later.

The main thing all this gun talk has done is push me from being on the fence about whether to buy one or not onto the side of "I better get one while I have options of what I want to buy" and have begun doing research into the subject of what I want.

The average lib thinks this is cute game of politics: We win...you lose. They don't have the capacity to understand the seriousness of this issue or the willingness of those who love America and freedom to go to any length to stop this threat.

Now your power lib knows they can never rule in the manner they desire while average citizens are armed. Either way, this will become beyond ugly. Libs won't know what hit them and they will surely be left wondering whether it was worth it.
