Crony-Leo Hindery Jr, who was an Obama short list choice for secretary of commerce, is "managing partner" of media conglomerate Intermedia Partners ... publisher of 17 hunting, fishing, and shooting magazines, including Guns & Ammo, Handguns, Gun Dog, Rifle Shooter and Shooting Times.

Hindery, a Huff-Po blogger/ Dem crony is in the process of stripping them down to virtual destruction.

thriving Sportsman Channel, WAS housed in a "beautiful" facility in Baxter, Mn, overlooking the Mississippi River... 60 employees, a massive studio, a dozen editing bays/ fully-wired machine rooms, AND was accomplishing 4+ studio shoots per year with a full production crew.

That facility now consists of about 12 employees –"basic clerks," who think every day may be their last

I guess we just step back and await the very predictable "unintended consequences"

aka, as a market DOES exist for this stuff... someone will purchase the dismantled pcs for pennies on the dollar, Hindery will lose his *ss, libs will wail, and life goes on

Conservative corporations have been buying up radio stations that broadcast liberal talk for decades. Cry me a river.

Danni, when the cancervatives do it, it is just the "free market" though in cases the switch from liberal talk radio to alternative programming lead to huge drops in market share.

When a liberal does it, it is some sort of crony conspiracy with a lot of evil laughter and handlebar mustaches.

It's pretty far-fetched to think a media company would buy these magazines and TV channels with the purpose of destroying them.

It's much more likely that these magazines and TV channels are doing what a lot of media companies are doing -- reducing workforce and consolidating jobs to survive a terrible market for print.
