But the Vice President of these here U-Nited States said firing warning shots with a shotgun is the sine qua non in home defense strategy. Ol' Double Barrel Joe even confided that he advised his own wife to do just that if she ever felt threatened in their home. Guess that doesn't apply in Virginia. Trevor Snowden of Virginia Beach "told police his dog was acting strange. When he walked to his bedroom, he said he saw two masked suspects leaning in his open window" . . .

Snowden's been charged with reckless handling of a firearm. Since this was all just a misunderstanding – Trevor was obviously just following government sanctioned advice – we're sure the Veep will be glad to cover his attorney's fees and any fines that may be assessed.

Two armed and masked men fled, seems that Biden was right and the police have charged this man erroneousy, but then that's what cops do.

Biden is a idiot and it is a Felony in every state to fire a warning shot. Also not every bad guy is scared by a person firing a warning shot, for sure if you have a double barrel shotgun. A SPECIAL NOTE ON BRANDISHING, SHOOTING TO WOUND, WARNING SHOTS AND SIMILAR HALF-MEASURES. Prosecutors have another term for warning shots: attempted felonious assault, improper discharge of a firearm etc. Shooting someone in the leg rather than center mass is similarly misguided and will not evade serious felony charges. Similarly, pulling out a gun just to "defuse the situation" is a legal non-starter. Do not be tempted to do this. If the gun comes out of the holster, the gun owner had better be justified in immediately employing it fully. There is no such thing as a warning shot or shooting to wound. This will be construed as a miss, bad marksmanship and perhaps even attempted murder.

At least when Biden became VP, we knew what we were going to get. He has lived up to our expectations (and the expectations of late-night comics everywhere) throughout his time as VP. The White House must wince every time Joe opens his trap.
