Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, February 28, 2013

Fox News host Sean Hannity was called "the worst excuse for a journalist I have ever seen" by Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) during an appearance on Hannity's show Tuesday. After Hannity played a video putting all of the blame for the sequester on President Barack Obama, Ellison went on a six-minute tear against Hannity until the host finally cut him off and said, "Congressman, you are a total waste of time."

I really enjoyed when Keith Ellison calls Hannity a yellow journalist.

We need more people holding journalists accountable for the lies they spew.

Tor, it was Dana Perino, but she was discussing it with Hannity,

"We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush's term," she told Sean Hannity.

Figures you and KBM missed that.

How odd Keith Ellison called Hannity a liar and Hannity had no response.

Seems to me, if I had made a truthful statement and was called a liar I would be able to provide proof of what I said.

Hannity slinked into his chair and tried to hide.

Also, Hannity's claim he's not a republican is hilarious.

Ellison's response was appropriate. He called out Hannity for misinforming his audience. Hannity never defended what he was saying, he just kept trying to change the subject of conversation away from his old lies and onto new lies.

When Ellison wouldn't play along with him, Hannity blew a fuse and pulled the interview.

Irony: Rep. Keith Ellison historically spoke more than Sean Hannity during his Fox News appearances

Rep. Keith Ellison warned he was "not backing down" to Sean Hannity during his aggressive exchange with the Fox News host on Tuesday evening. Now, a new and painstaking academic report finds that the Minnesota Democrat has received more time to speak his mind on Mr. Hannity's nightly show than during any of the congressman's other prime time appearances on the network.

Mr. Ellison spoke 1441 words during one appearance, and 645 words during his appearance Tuesday night. Mr. Hannity, meanwhile, merely spoke 1066 and 594 words respectively during those two interviews, resulting in a plus-426 word advantage for Mr. Ellison.

He is not mistaken. Hannity does not help matters by being such a lying POS who is practicing Yellow Journalism with a BIG megaphone and Ellison was EXACTLY right to call him out on it.
#77 | Posted by donnerboy

Sorry, you missed my point.

The Congressman lost a LOT of credibility by saying untrue and idiotic things and then making it worse by being obviously emotional about it. I would tell him to his face that I strongly disapprove with it. He's a Congressman and expect much more.

Hannity's job is to be what he is. If that's Yellow Journalism, then that's what it is. No different than Limbaugh, Beck, Maddow, that idiot Chris Matthews, etc.

I expect for Hannity to exaggerate, but if he's going to pound on the Obama Administration for screwing this up, then I really don't have a problem with it.

This is a loss for Obama. It's not a loss for the country.

If Hannity handed me his megaphone I'd rip him a new one until he turned it off too.
#77 | Posted by donnerboy

He turned it off after six minutes of letting a cry baby act like an ass. The only reason he got six minutes is because Hannity gave him the benefit of the doubt because he's a Congressman. Ellison miss used that six minutes and instead of trying to use the power of words, he just behaved... "Stupidly"

If you are angry with Hannity, then that's what he wants. He wins. You admit that he wins.

As to your claim that "the black Muslim boy was picking a fight", you find no fault in the way Hannity introduced him? Why did he play the smear piece on Obama at all? What was his intended question going to be? Seem like Hannity was going to use Keith Ellison as Obama's spokesperson. Wonder why he'd do that?

#66 | Posted by ClownShack at

remove the quotation marks if you are saying that was something I said...because to make it appear that I said that is a blatant lie. If you produce where I said that I will apologize...if not then I expect an apology from you...

The interview is neither a loss for Obama nor the Country.

The Sequester isn't a loss for Obama, but it is a loss for the Country.

This is what Hannity does. He won. This is the nature of this sort of "journalism".

When this proves to cause the private sector to grow, there will be even more pressure to cut spending.

AFK, Repeatedly asking for something when I'm not here isn't going to get you an answer any sooner.

As for your quandary, if you read the line before the one you are harping on you will figure it out, or maybe not.

You keep refering to the congress man by his chosen religion rather than his name. Obviously you wouldn't be doing if he was a christian. therefore you're trying to ostrasize him by pointing out he is muslim, in that case why not just completely label him by all his characteristics that set him apart from you.

If that means Hannity won in your opinion then so be it.

Hmmmmm.

It's very simple. Corporations reacted negatively to the Democrats gaining power in 2008.

Democrats losing power will have the opposite effect.

The private sector will begin to hire again.

The sooner you accept this, the easier life gets.

SO corporations have been purposefully attempting to destroy the country because Obama got elected in 2008.

RP is delusional, spending creates jobs. Confidence increases spending. Its a vicious cycle, whether its going up or down it feeds on itself. But the core of the economy is consumer spending which can only occur when consumers have jobs. How do so many fools get this backwards? How do so many fools not notice that the problems began in 2000, accelerating in 2004, flattening in 2008 (because of the stimulus package), reaccelerating in 2011 as the stimulus winds down?

Again, republicans passing the buck--not taking responsibility for their actions.

Bush is the only President responsible for 911 and the cover up following 911. Bush was the only President who fought against any investigation into 911. Bush was the only President who wouldn't testify under oath about 911. Bush was the only one who wouldn't testify at all unless Cheney was there.

Any REASONABLE person would want a full investigation into 911, and want Bush to testify in front of the whole country. A lie detector test wouldn't hurt either. The government uses those tests---so should the people. Bush should be in prison.

Yes, Bush was the ONLY President responsig=ble for 911. Bush most likely knew it was going to happen and allowed it to happen, then covered it up. That's why he didn't want any investigation into 911. His actions after 911 are those of a man who is guilty.
