Gun Control Bill Sparks Death Threats

Police in Colorado have arrested a man accused of making a death threat against state Rep. Rhonda Fields (D), the sponsor of two gun control measures. Franklin Sain of Colorado Springs allegedly sent Fields six emails, one voicemail and a written letter filled with obscenities, racial slurs and violent threats. "I guarantee there is not enough law enforcement or military to stop an all-out overthrow of this government if you or that n----- president tries to take our guns," one email stated. "Guarantee we will make World War I and II look like child's play, many will die." In one, he said he owns over 100 30-round mags and 150 round drums. "I will never give those up and I am far from being some whack job," the email said.

Hey dude, get a second opinion on that self-diagnosis. You'll at least get psychiatric help in the pokey and you'll lose your right to own fire arms, society will breath a little easier knowing you are unarmed.

Anybody who thinks he's going to make two World wars look like child's play is a whack job. I'm not sure how all his 100+ mags and drums are gonna stand up to your basic Hellfire Missile, or even a Bradley carried chain gun, but I'm a just lefty who knows nothing about guns.

Another e-mail expresses hope that someone would "Giffords" both Fields and Rep. Beth McCann, a reference to the 2011 mass shooting that nearly killed Arizona Rep. Gabby Giffords.

The paper letter attributed to Sain states, "There will be blood! I'm coming for you, n -- – b -- –." The letter was postmarked Feb. 16
