The liberal PAC Progress Kentucky is under sharp criticism for its Twitter messages about Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's (R) wife, former Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao. In a Feb. 14 Twitter message, the PAC wrote, "This woman has the ear of (Sen. McConnell) --she's his wife. May explain why your job moved to China!" Chao, the first Chinese-American to be appointed to a Cabinet in U.S. history, was born in Taiwan.

After receiving widespread criticism, the PAC apologized for posting "an inappropriate comment on the ethnicity of the former Secretary of Labor, Elaine Chao, the senator's wife" and said it is instituting better review of Twitter messages posted by the group.

I'm trying to find a way in which the charge can be plausibly accurate. Jobs go to china regardless of whether Mitch McConnell is SML or not. That his wife is Chinese and former Secretary of Labor could be a factor in how he develops his opinion of U.S. job loss to Chinese business. If they truly confide in one another like the best of marriages it probably does, but to place these economic realities at McConnell's feet absent some sort of real evidence is pretty dirty.

The problem with using the racism of people to one's advantage is, sadly, that it usually works. Ask President John McCain about how his illegitimate black love child.

Asinine and wrong, right here in my back yard. I want McConnell gone, but attacking his wife and talking about her ethnicity as was done here is unconscionable.

Yes, intentionally or otherwise this is pretty racist.

We've seen enough from you to know that you're probably a subject matter expert on what is and is not racist. Do you keep a copy of Racist and Bigots Handbook - Pocket Guide next to your computer?

In behalf of my progressive friends, I wish to apologize to Mitch's mail order bride.

btw, is it just me or is her butt fat for an oriental?

It is racist. It's judging this woman by her race.

It's wrong regardless of whether you think its racist or not.

It's obvious she didn't marry that turkey neck Jabba the hut for his looks.
The man is beyond repellent, and apparently an idiot to boot.
So that must mean she married him to get naturalized or gain citizenship if we apply todays "conservative" logic of association..

I want to see their long form marriage certificate and any correspondence they had prior to their wedding.

Why won't they just give it up? Hiding something maybe?

What's wrong with just asking --- Fox Snewzzz style.

Elaine Chow, through her father and family, have strong industrial/business ties with Communist China and Elaine and her hubby Mitch have NEVER been on the side of the American workers. She was a disaster picked by Bush to be Labor Secretary and every decision she made favored free trade and the outsoucing of American jobs -- a good majority of them to China.

There's nothing racist about questioning Chow's ties to China and possible favoritism when it came to outsourcing our jobs there. Stop being so PC and timid about "offending" her because she happens to "be Chinese." Good Lord, no wonder we PC Americans get walked on all the time.

Chow was so "pro-China" even some rightwing publications were concerned about her appointment by Bush as Labor Secretary

"Chow's Pro-China Coup"

and here's another article.

Chao is more proof Obama is a closet Rethuglican. Imagine hiring the wife of your primary obstacle to getting anything doe in the Senate. Pure madness, or you're on the same page as McConnell and just pretending otherwise.

Asians are to Progressives what Jews were to Nazi's. A constant reminder that, sometimes, inequalities are optimal output of a free society.

If the Cal higher education system were to admit on merit alone, it would be dominated by Asians, a minority of Caucasians, and a token number of blacks and Latinos.

So what do you do? Apply different standards to each race; hold Asians to a higher standard, everyone else to a lower standard. At least this is what was proposed several years ago in Cali, in order to ensure the higher education system didn't end up looking like Peking University.

McConnell's relationship with his father-in-law, James Chao, who owns Foremost Maritime Corp., a New York-based shipping company. The business has trade connections to China and Chao's father has ties to its government.

McConnell has said those donations and connections have no effect on his foreign policy views or votes.

well then, issue closed. The Turtle has spoken.

No kidding. If it was actually spelled "Chow" (using Wade-Giles transliteration), it would be pronounced like "Joe".

Taiwan is very different from the People's Republic of China. When people talk about "China", they're referring to the latter, in the same way "America" is assumed to mean the USA.

Really sucks when Democrats act like conservatives, doesn't it?

btw, does McConnell have a black baby, like your hero Dubya insinuated McCain did?

But it must be nice to have an in-law with ties to the chi-icom dictators, like Turtleman does. Sort of explains why he was so supportive of deficits don't matter Dubya borrowing so much from those godless baby-killing commies.

This just seems to be the new liberal play book since the media is in their pocket. They have been doing this for a while now. Make extreme claims (racism, lies, threats, personal attack) and the media lets it slide for a few weeks until they have to commit and them an apology is released but by then, the damage has been done.

Foreign Asians (Not USA-Asians) are getting preferential treatment in USA universities because they are paying high premium tuition costs unlike in-state or Americans. The USA universities that get USA taxpayer subsidies are marketing to Chinese, etc.

The USA is the only country in the world where our leaders and institutions all work very hard to F$#@! over their own USA citizens. Even illegal immigrants fare better than USA Citizens.

"THEY" (PTB) expect us average citizens to be patriotic, fight and die for institutions and freedom, be respectful of each other, and pay our taxes honestly, while "THEY" do nothing of the kind, and instead do their level best to promote derogatory policies that always harms the USA.

Asian women are hot. They're drop-dead-no-questions-asked more attractive than the bullfrog American feminists, and they're too smart to be fooled by the effete metrosexual types that masquerade as liberal "men". Little wonder liberals find Asian girls so intimidating.

It's a conundrum for them. Sitting in one of my favorite breakfast joints as we speak, Egghead Bagels on Shaanxi Bei Lu. Five tables of girls, chattering away in Japanese, Cantonese, Mandarin, French, and English. Everyone speaks English. Beautiful.

Liberals have to know, deep down, that there's something more to the outsourcing problem than just looking for low-cost alternatives to stupid US union labor. For $1200 a month you can hire a terrific, college-educated girl who is fluent in 3 languages and who is great at sales or engineering, works hard, and that is a pretty good living here besides. They'll actually agree to work for less money if it's for a US or Canadian company, because that usually comes with an international visa for business travel. Profit margins for US companies are astronomical, and we're actually loved and admired here in ways that we aren't just about anywhere else.

Sounds like we've found the missing Vern. Yeah dude, the chi-coms love Americans. That's why the prop up Iran and NK, and use all those well-trained girls to hack the DoD website.

I'm willing to bet they'll give you a good deal on a bridge in Brooklyn, too.
