Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, February 26, 2013

Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) said Saturday that former Vice President Dick Cheney would likely end up in hell because of his role in the Iraq war. At a Young Americans for Liberty conference, Jones said it was impossible under current law to prosecute a president for intentionally manipulating intelligence reports to make the case for war. He explained he co-authored a bill to change the law, but the legislation was killed in committee by Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas). Jones initially voted in favor of the Iraq war in 2002, but turned against the war after it became clear Iraq was not building any weapons of mass destruction. "Congress will not hold anyone to blame," Jones said. "Lyndon Johnson's probably rotting in hell right now because of the Vietnam War, and he probably needs to move over for Dick Cheney."

After France refused to support the U.S. invasion of France, Jones called for French fries to be renamed "freedom fries."

Has Jones ever done anything meaningful?

"Has Jones ever done anything meaningful?"
well he just did, pointing out the truth about the Iraq War.

LMAO. Now a true Christian wouldn't say or believe that. It all depends if he repents right?

He was part of the renaming of "French Fries" to "Freedom Fries", and at the time was celebrated and heralded by the base as a "great american/patriot"

If you claim to believe in hell, then you'd have to acknowledge that, unless he truly repents, Cheney is ending up there. It would be controversial (in a heretical way) for a believer to claim otherwise.

Sending Cheney to hell would be like sending Limbaugh to a buffet.

The "Freedom Fries" thing was dumb but he came out and changed his mind on the Iraq war. He said he was wrong to support it and was misled rather than sticking to defending Bush & Co. He deserves some credit for that.

No! Well perhaps, he is always chasing conspiracy theories about all sorts of things. Kind of like a modern day Don Quixote, only he chases conspiracy theories. Somehow I did not see where God died and left him in charge, lol. I'm in NC, but fortunately not in his district.

RoboCheney? He will never die, they already replaced his heart with a machine, one piece at a time RoboCheney will turn into DarthCheney (which used to be a username here at the DR).

Congressman: Cheney's Going to Hell

While I think Cheney is evil incarnate, only a person of specific arrogance would presume to have the moral authority to make the judgment that someone is going to hell.

Hey Whatsleft, you do realize that Hell is a bogus concept created by Religion to keep people in servitude, right?

Why does Jones hate Satan? Cheney will just shoot his friend, the Devil, in the face.

Not everyone is comfortable with the idea of Cheney getting away scott free with everything he's done.

Current and former Secretaries of State manipulated Iraq intel reports too. But libbies love the Clinton/Kerry/Albright war cabal. Weird.

Sooner or later the people will see through the lying politicians that have worked not to protect the USA, but to make Wall St rich and protect other countries.

Jones is a Republican that sees the light. I saw the light too after 9-11. Both Parties and politicians are puppets, just as George Carlin said before he met his end.

The most effective mass killer weapon in the USA if you believe Bush/Cheney, was the box cutter.

You'll find out differently when you get there. It will give a different definition of 'hot shot'.
Hahahahaha.

Hoover Republicans said the same about Joe Kennedy.

"While I think Cheney is evil incarnate, only a person of specific arrogance would presume to have the moral authority to make the judgment that someone is going to hell."

How about we take his statement for what it really is: an expression of the level of evil for which Cheney is probably guilty, and Cheney's continued lack of remorse for that, his assassination squad, and whatever else he did that I'm not remembering.

If Cheney is a bad guy, and you agree, I just don't see the reason, especially if you don't even believe in Hell, to quibble over "moral authority." Another Christian tenet, one attributed directly to Jesus, is that you will know someone by their fruit. If his "fruit" when given power is to start a war using falsified evidence that results in the deaths of a huge number of people, then given that he is unrepentant one can argue without really going out on a limb, that the guy is bad on the inside as well and probably going to hell. Maybe he really wanted to get rid of Saddam to save the lives of all the people he was murdering, but I don't really recall him ever expressing that.

Libs don't manipulate intel reports. They hand over technology to our enemies. Nothing weird about it. Just simple hatred for America.

What is there to be bitter about? America re-elected one of the most incompetent presidents in history and I suppose things are gonna get really bad. Of course, I was wrong about the election so I could be wrong about that too. And, I do my best not to hate. Hate just doesn't work well for me. But, I refuse to be a victim and libs feed on the culture of victimization. Without victims, we don't need gubbermint for protection. Then, we don't need libs to make more gubbermint. You catch my drift, Tee-OH-ARRRRRRRRRRRR?

That's the nicest thing I've heard a conservative say about Obama in months.
