Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, February 25, 2013

One potential Republican 2016 candidate didn't get an invitation to this year's Conservative Political Action Conference: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. A conference source told CNN that Christie wasn't asked to attend by organizers, which takes place in mid-March at a resort outside Washington. GOP politicians who did get invites: Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin.

Chris Christie may be the GOP's best bet for 2016.

No wonder they're never going to take the white house again.

Republicans need to change and get with the times. Stop trying to end a woman right to choose. Even Andrew Jackson wife have several husbands at the same time. Thomas Jefferson owned sex slaves. Our Muslim brothers and sisters can have 5,6,7...10 wives. So come on Republicans stop holding back our freedom. An no Rick Santorum you can't ban our porn!

I REALLY don't like Andrew Jackson but his wife doesn't deserve to be lied about.

At worst she got remarried after having left her first husband but before the legal proceedings were finalized.

That's a far cry from your claim of "several husbands".

Is there one person in that list who has a serious chance of being elected on the national level? Maybe Ryan and that is about it.

Christie looks like a democrat in republican clothing lately. He sure has been talking up democrat agenda issues. If the GOP runs Christie in 2016, it would confirmed their not conservative minded in the least. They might as well run as democrat ltie.

Christie puts the welfare of NJ ahead of the agenda of the GOP and Republicans hate him for it. He should watch the Chuck Hagel situation, it'll let him know what kind of future as a Republican he has. If you're a Republican never put your state or your country ahead of the Party if you know what's good for you.

Christie could be the only candidate that the GOP could win the whitehouse with, but he showed some bipartisanship so now he is finished with the GOP.

Christie sucks. The only reason Dems love him now is because he stabbed Willard in the back with extravagant praise for Obama. He's still a rightwinger. He vetoed a "good samaritan" bill that would have saved lives, a needle exchange bill, tried to sabotage the medical marijuana bill signed by his predecessor, etc, etc.

He's also a thug that tries to intimidate reporters and citizens who ask him tough questions and apparently can't control either his temper or his appetite. No way should this hothead be in charge of the military.

Because running up trillion dollar yearly deficits is not fiscal responsibiliy. Obummer is trying to bankrupt us and you and your left wing freinds apparently believe in the money fairy that will come along and put money in the checkbook so the governement can pay its bills.

Just look a the sequester, an Obummer proposal, and see who wants it to go away. Obummer is like John Kerry, "he was for it before he was against it". Who wants spending cuts? I have not heard of one proposal by democrats to cut spending, all they want to do is tax and spend. If you think they are going to only tax the rich you are naive, when they cannot tax them anymore they will start on the rest of us. Remeber the income tax started out as a tax ONLY on the rich, so how is it working for you today? We have a spending problem, not an income problem and the democrats keep saying stupid things like there is no spending problem.

It would be great if the democrats would own up and decide to cut spending but all they want is more taxes. The republicans are the only ones proposing any kind of spending cuts. We need fiscal repsonsibility plain and simple, something that should not be party specific.

Actually, she did not. This quote has been debunked as a fabrication. Why are you repeating lies ? Here is the link to the research on the quote, if you are too lazy to go there, then read my abridged version:

www.rightwingwatch.org

Kyle Mantyla on Tuesday, 11/6/2012 11:10 am
In our last post highlighting Glenn Beck's declaration that if Americans are "so dead inside" that they re-elect President Obama, then America will "have to be destroyed" because the nation has lost the ability to differentiate good from evil, Beck made a passing reference to a quote from Valerie Jarrett, President Obama's Senior Advisor.

It was this supposed quote from Jarrett that demonstrated, for Beck, the fundamentally evil nature of the entire Obama administration, and he had it read out repeatedly during the segment - here is the quote:

After we win this election, it's our turn. Payback time. Everyone not with us is against us and they better be ready because we don't forget. The ones who helped us will be rewarded, the ones who opposed us will get what they deserve. There is going to be hell to pay.

It was this quote that prompted Beck to proclaim that America was on the verge of reaping God's wrath ... but where did it come from? The quote is posted on all sorts of conservative websites and blogs, but they all eventually link back to a blog called The Ulsterman Report.

And where did "Ulsterman" get this quote? From an pseudonymous source he calls "Wall Street Insider" who claims to have received it from a source he supposedly has within the Obama campaign in Chicago:

The "Wall Street Insider" then forwarded a message supposedly written by the mole inside the Obama campaign which contains the quote that so outraged Beck:

Let's get this straight: an anonymous source supposedly within the Obama campaign supposedly overheard a representative from Jarrett's office make this statement and attributed it to Jarrett herself; it was then passed along to some pseudonymous source named "Wall Street Insider" who then forwarded it to The Ulsterman Report ... and it eventually ended up on Glenn Beck's radio program where the quote was treated as entirely legitimate and a sign that America deserves to be destroyed.

Gov. Christie to announce expansion of Medicaid in budget speech, sources say

As for his decision to expand Medicaid, the Republican governor, a critic of President Obama's Affordable Care Act, could reap up to $300 million by expanding the state program in the coming budget year.

For weeks, a coalition of labor, religious, family and consumer groups waged an aggressive letter-writing and media campaign encouraging Christie to expand the Medicaid program. Doing so, they argued, would allow 300,000 uninsured and childless people to apply for Medicaid.

Ok so having a father who was rejected after one term, and a brother who broke the country and wasn't even invited to his party's convention last year is a GOOD THING?

Even if Jeb was a political genius who had governed a respected state (which florida isn't) and cared about people who weren't rich like his family (which he doesnt) and had all the solutions we need (which he doesnt), he'd still never get elected. People know the apple doesn't fall that far from the tree. America took a chance on one Bush son and he turned out to be nearly retarded. People aren't going to forget that.

Again, if this is the republican A-list, they're screwed. It's no wonder everyone is suddenly calling themselves "independent" after 2007.
