John Kerry invents country of Kyrzakhstan(video)

John Kerry has suffered his first gaffe as the new US secretary of state, inventing the nation of 'Kyrzakhstan'

In an embarrassing slip of the tongue, Mr Kerry last week praised US diplomats working to secure "democratic institutions" in the Central Asian country, which does not exist.

The newly minted diplomat was referring to Kyrgyzstan, a poor, landlocked nation of 5.5 million, which he appeared to confuse with its resource-rich neighbour to the north, Kazakhstan.

The State Department kindly omitted the error in the official transcript of Wednesday's speech, which Mr Kerry delivered on the eve of his first foreign trip as secretary of state.

It's a shame the guy that can remember every travesty committed (minus him shooting a teen boy in the back mind you)but, can't even remember a country he is trying to brag on. Pitiful. Hopefully, Hillary can get the reset button back from Putin since that worked so well.

Kerry definitely needs to take geography lessons from the GOP though. Otherwise he'd never know that Iraq is on afghanistan's border, Russia is withing spitting distance of Wasilla and saudi arabia is a part of Iraq. And of course, Slovokia is still joined to the Czech republic.

Considering no recent Republican Presidents even served, bring up Kerry's records is like comparing apples to nothing.

And no matter what you say, Cheney shot his friend in the face, by "accident". Seems if you don't know how to properly use a gun you shouldn't have one.

George H.W. Bush definitely did serve in WWII, and he saw combat as a pilot as I recall. His less intelligent son also served in the Texas Champagne Squadron protecting Texas from those evil Mexicans.

He miscalculated, he thought that people who benefited from dishonest attacks on legitimate decorated veterans would find their chances dimmed. He was wrong, I think he has acknowledged that he overestimated the IQ of the American people though he actually did win that election.

I'm not going to make any excuses for Bush and his service. I'm pretty sure he got a sweet deal. What's laughable is the lefties that constantly go on about deferments when Biden got 5 for asthma while playing football in college. Bubba skipped town and both of those guys have shown they would use military force.

You are correct. I over played the hero tag. I will just say that your question was answered regarding a Republican president serving. Bush Sr was an Aviator.

To be completely honest. The reason I bring up these people's service is b/c my father was drafted straight from high school. He never complained. He never asked for a deferment. His last week of basic he caught the flu from standing outside in freezing rain and was told he could drop out and get well but, he would have to start basic over from the start. Then seeing him at the Vietnam wall in DC and him looking up the class mates from our town and seeing there names was something I won't forget. Anyway, that any of these politicians would get special treatment or bad mouth the troops before Congress bothers me a little.

Anyway, I'm going to get drunk and wait on the hooker and will be back to talk family values tomorrow. Cheers

Sorry to hear about your father's hardships. My father served as well. He doesn't talk about it and it was before I was born. I've seen his pictures and stuff. But he never talks about it at all. It's kind of like it never happened.
