Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

A mother recorded TSA agents at Lambert Airport in St. Louis trying to screen her distraught and crying young daughter in a wheelchair at a security checkpoint on Feb. 8. "Our three-year-old daughter was set aside for a 'pat down' and 'wheelchair swab,'" the video states. Annie Schulte posted the video on YouTube. Her daughter Lucy has spina bifida. "Why do we continue to let TSA touch our children?"

Aren't they supposed to check underwear and shoes specifically? Her shoes are not scuffed one bit and her underwear looks recently loaded .. suspicious!

All of the attempting "bombers" were intelligence agents.

TSA, Homeland Security and all the SWAT police impose martial law tactics because those institutions are the terrorists.

As much as I have serious criticisms and disdain of TSA, does anybody really think a terrorist would hesitate to use a child or a disabled person to hide and smuggle their weapons?

Parent: "Cite the law"

It's really sad when TSA employees can't even meet that minimal standard for justifying their actions. Fortunately for the family that question didn't ratchet up the intensity of the encounter like it often does when you ask a police officer what law they are standing by to legitimize their behavior.

Sentinel: None of the terrorists from 9/11 would have been stopped from a TSA presence. Nothing that has been done in the name of "security" for our citizens would have stopped 9/11. Tom Ridge even said this in a hearing or speech.

Also, if everything is all up and up then why do TSA agents continue to lie in these recordings about video taping? Video recording is legal in ALL public places at any time for any reason.

Would a terrorist use a child? Yes. However these clowns get off on their little power trip. TSA isn't hiring the best and brightest... the people they hire are low intelligence liars that can't even give you rational reasons why they do what they do. I've watched dozens of these videos and even the supervisors try the same bullying tactics and eventually have to relent when they come up against someone that knows their rights and can intelligently argue through all the BS.

The TSA serves no real service to us other than to terrorize our own citizens. I will never fly again unless I absolutely have to fly. If every person that flies just refused to fly .... within a week or two all of the airline CEOs would be on the bat phone with Obama and TSA would either disappear from airports or they would be cut back heavily.

Tried to bring any box cutters onto a plane lately? Or board with a one-way ticket? Open the reinforced cockpit door?

lol

Phester... if they wanted people to agree to pat downs they'd hire hot strippers and chipendales to do the pat downs...

Then you'd see a huge resurgence in Rebox Pumps and everyone would wear baggy clothes.

Doc: No but you can take knitting needles on board... I've seen them take them.... 10 inch knitting needles will kill you just as quick.

One way ticket.... yeah actually my wife and I did take a trip with one way tickets to Orlando because I had to drive a car back.

Cockpit door.... news flash... cockpit doors have always been reinforced. The problem was that the rules weren't followed and the door was opened while in flight.

I didn't say stuff doesn't get through. But your statement that "None of the terrorists from 9/11 would have been stopped from a TSA presence" simply isn't true - in part because it can't be tested. But things being equal - as in the rules being enforced - the 9/11 terrorists carrying box cutters wouldn't have been able to board those planes.

You're really quite the Johnny-one-note, aren't you?

Do you know what administration created the TSA and the US Dept. of Homeland Security, of which it is but one of many components? A "compassionate conservative" administration. You guys really do suffer from incredibly debilitating selective memory problems.

Doc Johnson, take a look at your professor in chief and what he has been doing for the last 4 years and ask yourself what your reaction would be if Bush or any Republican were the President doing these same things.

Are you in favor of ending the War on Some Drugs, or abolishing the "Patriot" Act? If not, shut up, hypocrite.

Personally I'm still unconvinced that a planes carrying over 200 passengers each were subdued by just box cutters. I know I know... I'm a conspiracy nut job... but what would you think some arabs hijacking a plane plan on doing with you? Take you to Dubai to see the sites?

Yer dead anyway and you know it... you don't try and fight back against them? Really?

Of course I'm probably wrong... but anyhoo.... TSA isn't what's needed... hijackings and what not have been happening for a long time before 911. Plane bombings too... but suddenly THIS is what we needed?

"but what would you think some arabs hijacking a plane plan on doing with you? Take you to Dubai to see the sites?"

In 2001, pre-9/11? Yes, very possibly. There had been plenty of airplane hijackings, some killings, and loads of passengers eventually released. That was the pattern. It was the meme the 9/11 hijackers evidently relied on and used in convincing crew and passengers they were armed with bombs and were hijacking the planes. They didn't say, "Hey, we're gonna fly this babies into some buildings."

Since then, it's different; hence the subduing of shoe-bomb a-holes and their ilk by irate passengers not interested in being turned in explosive components.

But that was then and after that it's now. Different time, different perspective.

Isn't there a way to keep Muslims from flying on American airlines? Isn't that the answer, when you think about it? Surely the liberals who are rolling over the O's drone war against Islam could sit still for that too, as long as it's Zero or Holder who proposes it.

That's what will have to happen. Anyone from the one demographic who isn't determined to blow up civilian airliners can get on board unmolested, and the others stay on the ground.

Looking for things to cut to save money eliminate the TSA.

Why we put up with these gov KGP checkpoints is behind me.

If we keep putting up with this they will be posted at on the highways next to check people that move from city to city. This is communism folks its what they do they control the people.

That's an insult to the KGB. Their people were capable of thought and encouraged to use judgement.

There may have been as thoughtless an institution as the TSA at some point in human history but I'm not aware of it....

I can think of court houses as one place... tell me where else? Recording is NOT illegal in an air port. There was a video on you tube where a Sheriff flat out told some airport employee he could not make the people stop recording.

Other than a court house, which is controled for witness protection... tell me where else? Out on the street you are allowed to record wherever you want, so long as you are on public land. If you can stand there, you can record there.

The police can surveilance you, you can surveilance them.
