Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, February 24, 2013

A 32-year-old Brooklyn man is suing his parents, claiming he wasn't loved enough by them and that their neglect caused him to be homeless and jobless. Bernard Bey filed a self-written lawsuit in Brooklyn court earlier this month, accusing his parents of causing him mental anguish and making him feel "unloved and beaten by the world." Bey is asking the court for more than $200,000 in damages. He wants his parents to mortgage their home and purchase two franchises such as Domino's Pizza outlets.

Another selfish clown from Generation Whine trying to blame his BabyBoomer parents because at 32 he's still a loser.

[...] His parents owe him nothing. Responsibility is one of the hardest things to assume about being an adult.

He made his bed and now he has to lay in it.

If they didn't love him before they sure will now.

They must be pretty cheap if you can 2 of them for $200,000.

It's "lie," but other than that I agree. : ) Grow up, silly man. Lots of us didn't get enough love in our childhoods, and yet we manage to hold jobs and be responsible adults.

This is the fault of our current society. Everyone wants their piece without having to work for it and they can sue without any repricussions for false claims.

Heck, my dad was a hard ____ and didn't know what it meant to be a father except that he worked his hind end off and supplied us with the basics. It fell to ma to be the example of love----tremendous person and example. But it turned out to be positive since I had a role model I knew I didn't want to be like as a father to my children. Some kids evolve out of difficult situations and some others don't----it depends on the gifts/talents given to you and choices.

It would be interesting to hear his side of the story.

Holy crap, Mats! You're quoting Gandalf! (He gets a few great lines in that movie, and by "that movie" I mean the whole trilogy, but he gets the best of them in Fellowship. Same gets some good ones too, particularly the speech at the end of The Two Towers.)

When I read this I remembered hearing as a child in pre internet days that Diana Shore had sued her parents for not telling her she was part black and she found out when she had a black baby, Did not think much about it but theses now "facts" stayed filed away in my brain. So I looked it up on the internet just now and it is not true. This shows how when someone makes up a ugly lie even when proven wrong it can stay around a very long time. "Friends of Hamas" I wonder if years from now people will remember hearing about Hagel and remember this also ugly Breitbart/Rand Paul lie?

Yes, Prag, Gandalf was a very wise personage---I'm sure you would admit similar to Matsop----now if only doc had the cerebral capacity to envelope that.

This is a "feel good" story. Everyone who reads it can feel good knowing that they're not as pathetic as Bernard Bey.

There must be something wrong with me. It registers that he's suing his parents because he's a loser. And I fully understand the ridiculousness of that. And yet, what bothers me most about the story is that someone from Brooklyn - at one time the undisputed Mecca for pizza lovers - would want anything to do with Domino's pizza.

Brooklyn pizza. Hm. Two Boots! Or on Smith Street, near Dean, Caruso's.

Manhattan? Only one way to go? The true original Ray's, 6th Avenue and 11th Street.

Food is about the only thing I miss about NYC.

I knew it! I knew there would come a day when I agreed with RWD.

Pro se lawsuits (homemeade ones, like this one) are sometimes amusing but rarely go anywhere. They're filed by losers with nothing else to do and nothing to lose. Although that "nothing to lose" part isn't always true.

I was a reporter for many years, and I once covered the case of a career criminal in prison on a burglary conviction who filed a pro se lawsuit against his lawyer after a clerical snafu. The suit noted that the judge had signed a judgment notwithstanding the verdict, in essence throwing out the man's conviction by jury.

The suit said that, while the defendant's lawyer did use the judgment to get him out of prison after he had served only a few months of a 10-year sentence, it wasn't soon enough, causing the poor man needless incarceration.

Well, as it turns out, the judge didn't intend to throw out the conviction at all. It was a clerical error. The judge had intended to write DENIED on the motion, but instead signed it, thereby granting it. Thanks to the man's lawsuit, drawing attention to the fact that he was a free man only by mistake, he ended up back in prison to serve the full 10-year term. HA!
