Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval (R) signed legislation Thursday legalizing online gambling in the state after a rush to beat New Jersey from being the first to pass such a measure. The state now can enter into compacts with other states to offer Internet poker after gambling regulators come up with regulations dictating compact parameters. "As to our competitor, New Jersey, they should be accustomed to following Nevada," he said.

What was it Panny was saying the other day? Oh yeah, it was:

"Drugs and Gambling always the left pandering to the weakness of it's constituents to balance it's budgets. This will be followed by a request for Addiction treatment and Gambling counseling funding from the same tax payers." #3 | Posted by paneocon

"...Gambling always the left pandering to the weakness of it's constituents to balance it's budgets."

What an idiotic statement. Take Kansas - and in light of the Tea Morons running the state's gov't today I'm tempted to add a Henny Youngmanesque, "Please!" - where the (GOP-controlled) state operates three - count 'em, three - casinos (and the tribes five): Boot Hill Casino (Dodge City), Hollywood Casina at KS Speedway (KC), Kansas Star Casino (Mulvane), with another one planned.

Ooooooh, poor KS, controlled by "the left pandering to the weakness of it's [sic] constituents to balance it's [sic] budgets."

Gambling is not doing IL and specifically Chicago any good.

Perhaps CA is doing better.

I don't really know how the gambling business works, but it appears somewhat related to the old real estate motto: "Location, location, location."

Very true. The best location is close to, but not in, some place where gambling is not legal.

"Nevada Legalizes Online Gambling"

Terribly slippery slope.
Next they'll be legalizing prostitution, or even worse, Wayne Newton.
