Larch Corrections Center in Washington state has a program in which inmates socialize cats and prepare them for adoption.

I'm not sure which cats should be more afraid.
Those being petted by prisoners who have killed pets for sport or those being petted by prisoners that like being bit.

Cats are now being sent to prison.
Sounds like a good program both for the cats and the prisoners who care for them. Every creature on Earth is better off with having someone in their life to hug -- be they human or animal.
