Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, February 22, 2013

Former suburban Chicago police officer Drew Peterson was sentenced to 38 years in prison Thursday for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, in 2004. Peterson and Savio had divorced a year earlier, and prosecutors said his motive was to avoid paying a pending financial settlement. Peterson, 59, shouted in court during sentencing, "I did not kill Kathleen." His fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, disappeared in 2007, leading authorities to reopen the case into Savio's death after it was thought to be an accident.

Interested to see how these appeals play out, considering the case was built on hearsay.

This guy is a dirt bag. He's where he needs to be.

Dirt bag or not, its now in your face that its hard to prove you're innocent in the USA any more, even when there's nothing but circumstantial evidence.

So much for 12 Angry Men (1957 full movie).

The judge gave him four years' credit for time he has served since his arrest.

This bothers me more than anything. Why did it take FOUR YEARS to try this guy?

Speedy trial my ass.

No wonder so many people take a plea deal. Who wants to spend years in jail, when you can get probation and go back to your life.

People don't go back to their lives like that Alex.

Like Corky... his kids friends selling coke out of his basement said he knew so they'd get off... so they threatened him with 20-life. After 4 years listening to phone calls they finally charged him with a deal for 5 years. He said after that he's gonna be a welfare queen for life because no way was he ever paying a tax dollar again.

And like Chief. His so-called-friend asked him to cut a few metal tubes with his band-saw. The next day they charged him with with making shotgun barrels that were 1/4" too short and charged him similarly high. Meanwhile that night the 26 harleys from his shop were stolen and the cops said it had to be someone with inside info that shipped them overseas to be untraceable. After 10 years making license plates he said he'll NEVER help anything in the USA be successful again. He's "done with it".

Too bad because both were tax payers before they did an Atlas Shrugged... or rather it was done to them.

Oh and Hawk got an extra year on his manslaughter (self defense) for writing a poster "Just us". The constitution doesn't apply on parole.

There's lots more stories like that from anyone paying attention. Sadly though most 'citizens' are zombies.
