Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, February 22, 2013

We'll depart from books this week to discuss music, but specifically to have DR members confess to being a big fan of a band or singer that other users would find surprising based on what they assume about them. For instance, The Pope being a fan of Black Sabbath would be construed as a guilty pleasure.

In a pinch, you can list more than one....and a genre might even be considered a valid answer.

Fewer music fans than readers, I see. Ok, I'll start:

The Decemberists. Great music, but can't stand their politics.

^Agreed...Decemberists are one of the finest bands in the past decade...even with their libtard politics. Saw Steve Earle live many years ago and he is a HUGE libtard. He did this like 20 minute rant in the middle of the show. Hey buster: [shut up] and play a song! Oh yeah...that reminds me seeing Elvis Costello at Bannoroo. He also took time out to lecture us on how awful the US was because of Pres. Bush. Hey, Pal: You're not even a citizen, so [shut up] and play a song!

Current guilty pleasure: Tegan & Sara

I wonder if Doc will show up on this thread admitting he's a closet Toby Keith fan...

Like them too. "Back In Your Head" and "Walking with a Ghost" remind me of the '80s group Berlin.

I desperately want to hate Kate Perry, but her songs are too catchy and she's too hot.

I like them too, but most of it isn't a guilty pleasure. It's just good.
