The identity of dozens of residents who participated in a Santa Fe, N.M., gun buyback program accidentally were released to the public -- along with their address, phone number and the weapons they sold. The information was put by mistake into a packet for the City Council. "It shouldn't have happened, but it did," said Santa Fe Police Chief Raymond Rael. "I apologize on behalf of the city, I don't think that information should've been out there."

Well maybe if people were smart they would be selling them to a FFL, they would also get more money for them as well.

How can any group "buy back" something they never owned to start with? This makes as much sense as someone getting sterilized because their neighbors are having too many kids!

It makes me smile that gun dealers are now going to these buy backs and offering more money to people who were going to get a gift card from the police, then the police get all upset about it. "That's not fair"

It is about time a list of "mon gun people" was published.

Well, there's your problem, slick: trying to fire warm turds out of a gun barrel made for firing bullets.

I don't have a problem slicker (speaking of warm terds) -- all I have to do is wait for the gun buy back and bring um in.

This all seems sort of fishy to me. Why would you trade a working semi-automatic rifle for a $200 gift card. You could sell it online for five to ten times as much. In fact, the best place to buy guns might be at one of these events. You could give the seller $300, and turn around and sell it for $1000.

You would be the ex-spert on the warm turds.

This is why we should not be required to Register our weapons. Mistakes happen, lists get sent to the wrong people, next thing you know you are on someones LIST.
