Seems Rush thought my Lai was a heroic action. I guess Rush was proud of American Jim Crow laws promoting racial inequality. I guess Rush thought the National Guard shooting unarmed students walking to class in Ohio was a heroic action. I guess Rush thinks no investigation into 911 makes America strong.

And he is right. It is an embarrassment that Americans can't see the manipulation by both sides. People have lost the ability to think for themselves. This is nothing more that a rounding error on a massive spending economy and the ability to allow departments to adjust internally makes a small problem into a non problem.

Some Hindu named Rudh merits a thread?

Other then BBs off-thread remarks, I agree with Rush's specific comments on why he's ashamed of the U.S.

Its Okay Rush, the feeling is mutual, America's been ashamed of you since you slithered out of the ooze.

The link claims Limbaugh said:
"Here they come sucking us in, roping us in, panic here, fear there, crisis, destruction, no meat inspection, no cops, no teachers, no firefighters, no air traffic control. I'm sorry, my days of getting roped into all of this are over. We have the media play along with all of this, the ruling class of both parties play along all of this -- it's insulting. I don't know how else to describe it."
I am not ashamed of my country, but he is absolutely right about this stuff. This panic mongering is going on with the neocon right military addicts and the socialists on the left. I do not like Limbaugh. He is almost always a Republican shill since George H.W. Bush was president. But in this, he is right. He fails only to add in the military scare talk....predictable partisanship that does not make it less true.

You think Obama uses fear tactics--I think he's telling the truth. Conservatives are all about party over country. These cuts won't hurt them at all. They have government jobs with excellent health care paid for by the US taxpayers, so none of the cuts will affect them or their families.
As far as fear tactics goes, I don't see any terror alert warnings or color coded daily threat warnings designed to scare voters.
I'm ashamed of my country every time they choose a conservative lawmaker who puts his party first.

LOL! You mean the manipulation which Rush Limbaugh fully participates in? The active manipulation of the truth which he excels in?
People have lost the ability to think for themselves because they are too busy listening to Rush spread bull and vitriol.
And you are his prime candidate.

Brilliant, Buffalo! All those 'conservatives' in the EPA, HEW, Fannie/Freddie will not be hurt at all.

Bob, when you do the math, there's no reason for a high level of pain/panic. Obama uses his typical Saul Alinsky technique of scare tactics and it's growing old.

Besides, I wouldn't be surprised if Obama is playing to his base once again so he has no culpability when it happens----even though he knows his verbal position is again the usual BS. He proposed the sequester and he signed it. As Howard Dean has said; "Let It Happen".

Have to side with the Clown on that one, Paneocon, sorry. My definition of politics is simple: Manipulation of the larger share of people who might vote. In that, Limbaugh is a genius but a full participant. But so is anyone who has no range of vision other than the next election.

Really bob? The sky is falling over a budget cut that still has us spending significantly more that we did last year when we ran a 1.6 trillion deficit? We can't find $85 billion worth of reductions in the 2013 budget, 2.4% reduction in the $3.8 trillion of total 2013 spending. You really want to go and double down on that here for all to remember?

I'm talking about the conservatives who will be casting votes in congress. Those conservatives could care less about the conservatives you mention since their vote is a "given" no matter what they do, and they probably voted for the guys who are about to slit their economic throat anyway.

I don't think you understand the problem. Sure there can be lots of cuts that would be effective---but the cuts being talked about will hurt people and still leave other unnecessary expenditures in place.
I guess the point that bothered me was that this is the only thing for which Rush has been ashamed of America. How about you? Ever been ashamed of anything America has done in the past?

One executive order to allow the cuts to be allocated across departments and this problem goes away. What you fail to see is Obama doesn't want to do the right thing when he can hurt people to make a point.
Republicans Coalesce Around Clever Plan To Make Looming Spending Cuts Much Less Draconian
Senate Republicans along with influential conservative commentators are proposing to provide federal agency heads the flexibility they currently lack to allocate the sequester's cuts at their discretion.

So when Obama issues an executive order you attack---and you attack when he doesn't issue an exceutive order.
That seems fair---to a conservative.

There are things that can be done by executive order and there are executive over reach. It can be done through congress but I'm not sure Harry Reid knows how to pass anything other than renaming a post office these days.

Anything Obama does is wrong as far as you are concerned. I am quite sure that if Obama issued an executive order as you suggest, you would be in here telling us all what a poor decision he made for America.

Now this makes some sense. In private industry, the best formula was to tell department heads the % of cuts they had to endure and they were given the discretion since they knew what was priority and what wasn't.

Bob, the biggest problem I've had with Obama is his divisiveness, arrogance, and lack of early bi-partisanship. His Obamacare is falling apart and he threw money to his supporters that put us in a larger fiscal hole. Now he's got his sorry rearend in a ringer and ought to have it kicked. But count on the rethugs (for the good of the country) to save him. The only problem is he won't appreciate it since he has no shame.

I have no special love for Bush either. Both he and Obama are at the beck and call of the establishment, the monied (especially the bankers) and the powerful. Both grate on me since they don't give a hoot about the average family trying to make ends meet. Both disgust me. But our fiscal dilemma and deteriorating global financial position will put an end to a lot of the big monied interests but how it will impact the average family is anyone's guess. We've wasted the best years America had for the few and it was patently thievery.

Deflections, deflections, deflections... This schoolyard tactic is why American governing has descended into a team sport of gotcha and destruction. ALL of our feuding government's policies are geared toward vote buying, sheeple herding and inflicting political damage on the other team. America's future of collapse and balkanization is so crystal clear it gives me great pause when I think of how many people deny what lies beyond the tip of their noses and charge headlong off the cliff, just so they can try to blame the other team. In the end, there will be gathered groups of accomplished smugness in tar paper shacks down by the river, trying to get all buddy buddy with the redneck survivalist that they once looked so far down upon. So very sad.
