My bank called me this morning asking if my credit card had been stolen. They were concerned because it hadn't been used at the liquor store since Friday.

I just saw that SECDEF has sent out an ALNAV message stating that barring a deal on the fiscal cliff, he expects that almost all civilian DOD employees will be furloughed after a 30 day notification.

WE HAVE NO LEGAL AUTHORITY TO EXEMPT CIVILIAN PERSONNEL FUNDING FROM REDUCTIONS. AS A RESULT, SHOULD SEQUESTRATION OCCUR AND CONTINUE FOR A SUBSTANTIAL PERIOD, DOD WILL BE FORCED TO PLACE THE VAST MAJORITY OF ITS CIVILIAN WORKFORCE ON ADMINISTRATIVE FURLOUGH.

I wonder what that's going to do for the unemployment numbers?

Sequestration is spending cuts. You can't cut spending and keep all the stuff you have.

That's why no one will let sequestration happen, because no one wants to do without anything they have.

It really should not have an impact on unemployment, since most civilians where I work will have a 4-day work week for a few months. They get paid well, and know this is going to happen. They should be able to prepare financially.

I was watching a Short Film made in South Africa last night and I heard an insult I had never heard before.

So I thought I would share it.

A man and woman were robbing a car dealership and the owner tells them they are "a waste of white skin."

I've never thought of it like that.

Then he proceeds to call them "White N***ers."

Yea, the dealership owner was white.

It was a weird short overall.

But I have never thought of white skin as being a prize, which is why hearing him say they are a waste of white skin was actually shocking.

South African Short film. Not that great. it was okay. part that stood out was the slur. never heard it before. made me think about race/racism. best place to share it is the DR.

Yeah ok, I'll give you that. Killing is bad karma.

But eating is fun. Going to walk to the Domino's a block away and get some wings and pasta and some bread sticks after a while.

Food channel is great, I like Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Man vs. Food is on the Travel channel.

The Barefoot Contessa is also good.

They were good Gracie. Wish I'd gotten two boxes. Since those and the shortbreads were all the Girl Scout had left on Sunday, I'm thinking that people don't like them as much as the Samoans and Mint cookies. ☺

my daughter has sold nearly 250 boxes of cookies this year.

a big change here......we have to order cookies in advance and sell them COD. Big pain but people are coming back to buy more....so we are selling more, I think.
