A suspected rapist accused of sexually assaulting a woman he met on ChristianMingle may have used the dating site to prey on women across the country, police said. Sean Patrick Banks, 37, a former Navy sailor, has been charged with two counts of rape and pleaded not guilty. A La Mesa woman accused him of raping her in November on their first face-to-face date.

"Rapist Found Victim on ChristianMingle"

Praise jeebus!

Looks as though this rapist perv had his own interpretation for what it means to "mingle."

Some people like to prey on Christians because they are quicker to trust people who say they share the faith. A close relative was conned in a business deal by someone whose MO was to meet people at church services and rip them off.

Christian women are taught to be submissive to men. If they get raped they have ways of shutting that whole thing down anyway.

RCADE I can't thank you enough for reminding humanity of subhumans like that.

Nice Christians deserve better than to be targeted.

Could be but while humanity plays "Checkers" God plays "Chess".

He should just do it while hes in the jail too. Any collateral damage is just too bad and we can always label them as suspected rapists too.

"Christian women are taught to be submissive to men. If they get raped they have ways of shutting that whole thing down anyway."

A truly sick statement, Donner.
And it's the Pubs who have a war against women? This was a violent series of crimes and you laugh at the victims?

#23 | Posted by Diablo at 2013-02-20 12:26 AM | Reply | Flag:

Well at least the rapist can count on the victim's forgiveness.
Hopefully the justice system arrives at a different conclusion.

yes... glad you think it is a sick statement.

The first comes from the teachings of your Bible (and the Koran) which teaches that the Woman is subordinate to the Man and has held women as second class citizens for thousands of years (and still does in many countries).

1 Timothy 2:11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission.

1 Timothy 2:12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.

1 Corinthians 14:35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

(I could go on and on and on)

The second comes from a Republican.

"If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down. -Todd Akin former Republican candidate for the Senate.

And oh...no one is laughing.

Any Christian who has a good dictionary and a rudimentary understanding of scripture should see the trouble with the word "mingle":

"mingle
MIN'GLE, v.t.
1. To mix; to blend; to unite in one body; as, to mingle liquors of different kinds.
2. To mix or blend without order or promiscuously.
There was fire mingled with hail. Ex.9.
3. To compound; to unite in a mass, as solid substances; as, to mingle flour, sugar and eggs in cookery.
4. To join in mutual intercourse or in society.
The holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands. Ezra.9. Ps.106.
5. To contaminate; to render impure; to debase by mixture."

NOT a "neutral" term. Poor lady

#26 | Posted by Tor

Apparently not.

Because Jesus never taught that women should be subordinate to men.

The fact is that Jesus also did not say anything about abortion, gays and birth control either.

That doesn't stop so-called "Christians" from ranting and railing against them as though it was on the authority of God.

#32 | Posted by donnerboy at 2013-02-20 04:33 PM | Reply | Flag:

Donner Jesus objected to sexual perversion.

That may have included homosexual intercourse.

I know he liked kids thought I can't think of anything he said about abortion or birth control.

The bible reports he said "though shall not tempt God" when dared to risk his life without just cause.

It's possible that same logic can be applied to abortion and birth control.
