The city is making a major push to sweep the streets of dangerous, mentally ill New Yorkers -- and has even compiled a most-wanted list, The Post has learned.

The measure follows a pair of high-profile subway-shove fatalities from December allegedly involving mentally ill individuals.

The city has already drawn up a list of 25 targets, sources said.

"After the Queens subway attack [of immigrant Sunando Sen], the [city] decided to take a proactive approach to track down the most dangerous mental-health patients that currently have mental-hygiene warrants" out for them, a law-enforcement source said.

This is actually a good thing. If they had done something similar for the Lanza kid it might have prevented the massacre.
As long as they concentrate on those who do not take medication, the public has an interest in making sure they do.

During the Reagan regime, mental Institutions were closed and the mental patients were driven by the busloads to big cities. The doors were opened and they were pushed off the bus and the buses drove away.

RR saw this as a good money saving policy.

726, have you ever been to NYC? It's easy to identify those not taking meds. Also, many have to report to clinics to get the stuff and can be identified that way.
Just stroll around Port Authority bus terminal someday. You'll see.
