Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton called Russia and China "despicable" for opposing U.N. Security Council action to stop the Syrian government's brutal military attacks on civilians. More than 60 nations are planning a peacekeeping mission to deploy after Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime halts the violence. Clinton predicted that Assad would be overthrown. "We also know from many sources that there are people around Assad who are beginning to hedge their bets -- they didn't sign up to slaughter people," she said.

At the GOP debate the other night, the candidates were flummoxed trying to talk about Syria. They all wanted to monger for that war, but they didn't want to support the admin's efforts to get China and Russia to agree with the Arab Nations and support the Syrian rebels with arms.

(Who are prolly all al Qaeda anyway, right Tighties?)

Of course, the way this admin handled Lybia with no loss of troops or troops on the ground is quite different the way a GOP Pres would handle Syria.... which would, if history is any predictor, involve invading Tunisia or Lebanon or some other wrong country with 1/2 a million troops.

Just sayin'.

What a liar you are Crispee, everyone heard the son of Ghadafi threatening "rivers of blood." All reasonably well adjusted people wanted to prevent such a massacre and our President acted intelligently and with great restraint.

Despicable, and what of us. No repercussions for China or Russia on our part, cause though we find it distasteful, money is king. We dare not anger the country funding all of our debt, we have not conscious.

Of course danni. Everyone heard about it, and morons like you and Corky continued to believe it even after Khaddafi was killed. Meanwhile for the last year Assad has been trying to kill as many as his father did, and you fucking idiots praise Obama and Clinton for their cowardness after Russia told them to back off. Go figure...

So funny! Rwingers spent much of last year whining about how Obama was interfering too much in Libya, and now they are whining that he isn't interfering enough in Syria.

A person might think that they are just cynical assholes more concerned about having Obama in office and willing to whine about anything he does rather than doing what is best of US interests.

Actually many were mocking you and the left for pretending Obama did anything but relinquish US power to the Arab League. Now, we get to laugh at the same losers who want to pretend Hillary has a handle on Syria and the reformist Assad.

Not once did I see a post from you making that stupid claim, instead you were whining that Obama was being led by our NATO allies (who supported us in Afghanistan BTW). Obama brought down a government in Libya which was positively guilty of terrorist attacks against Americans and your own dishonest partisan hackery prevented you from acknowledging the truth. You are a liar and everyone who posts here knows it.

Does your trailor need cleaning danni? Or are you sniffing the fumes again? Only a fucking idiot would be stupid enough not to do a simple search before opening their incredibly ignorant yap...

On that note, this search revealed an example of danni and corky stupidity:

The Arab League, NATO the UN, China and Russia stepping aside.... with American leadership will do what America sometimes actually does, help the helpless.

Wrong. The problem was he refused to present it before congress. I know that fact is hard to understand because Congress agreed with Bush, All you remember after Democrats approved Bush's plan is that they whined about it for political gain.

Better late then never I guess. The Democrats really don't want to get involved in Syria because they know Sadam's WMDs were sent there prior to the Iraq war and it will make them look like fools once the word is out again after they denied and ignored it ( again for political gain) years ago.

By your logic, America should have invaded Syria then since that was the justification for invading Iraq but Syria has little oil and wasn't even discussed in Cheney's secret energy meetings.

Exclusive: State Department quietly warning region on Syrian WMDs
thecable.foreignpolicy.com

Here is the kicker. Libya has a threatened but not realized massacre and we were told a lie to get involved there. We were told it was for
"humanitarian reasons" when in it turned out to be to help the rebels win their civil war and kill Gaddafi. We didn't know exactly who we would be helping in Libya and now the Libyan rebels are running wild with murder and violence in Libya

Syria is an actual massacre that is only being proliferated. We are not there because we don't know who exactly it is we will be helping in aiding the opposition to Assad (strange... we didn't care that we didn't know exactly who we would be aiding in Libya).

We have American troops in 4 countries in Africa and are planning on increasing the troop presence there to fight the LRA.

Now isn't that a strange situation? Sounds like the administration isn't sure if it is anti-war, humanitarian, or anti-humanitarian.

The pot calling the kettle black. Compare supporting the Dictator Assad, a former British Eye Surgeon, to our support of the Shah of Iran or Pinocette, real monsters. Or shock and awe of Iraq, including sprinkling the entire nation with spent uranium causing a massive spike in birth abnormalities. China and Russia signed the ban on landmines. The USA is the only major power which has refused to do so. The USA has become the greatest terrorist organization on the planet. It is even targeting its own citizens.

noupyours,

Reagan promised Gorbachov that we would not move the Warsaw Pac into NATO. Assange has published irrefutable proof the US Government is a belligerant liar. For proving this they want to lock him up or torture or kill him, because no one is supposed to know the truth. Manning was held in solitary confinement for two years without trial, in an illegal effort to frame Assange. We protect the terrorist Posada that blew up a Cuban airliner with 160 passengers over Venezuela. Meanwhile, we lock up Padilla for imaginary terrorist crimes. We train people South of our border to murder priests and nuns who support human rights. The murder rate and drug running in countries we control, like Columbia, is mind boggling. Countries which have rejected our violent policies like Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile are enjoying a renewed prosperity.

Countries that aren't determined to rule the planet by force have lots of money for education, health care and social security. We don't only because we waste it all building weapons of mass destruction. Then we lose the unnecessary wars we start.

People need to know the truth. Its the first step in fixing things. Its sad you aren't interested. I have a passport, but I'm too busy skiing right now.

now come on dave, surely you understand that there is a lag between the initiation of policies under Cheney's "Energy Task Force" and the consequences. Bush went to war with Clinton's Army.

Lets review the facts. Gasoline consumption is down due to the ongoing recession. Production and Prices are up. The difference is being exported in order to keep prices high. The call for war on Iraq has triggered a self fulfilling prophesy in the form of a feeding frenzy by market speculators that contrary to what RiR says, never take possession of the oil. The Kochs, who do take possession of the oil, have manipulated prices by keeping oil on tankers until targeted refineries begin to run low and then releasing it at a premium price.

Obama is a secret Conservative chosen by Wall Street to further their agenda. He talks like a liberal, but his action and inaction betray the talk.

#35 | Posted by nutcase at 2012-02-26 06:40 PM | Reply | Flag:

I will suggest that any individual who plays the oil and commodity markets today is a fool unless you buy or sell based upon oversold/bought. The markets are a casino where only a few control the rules.

Why, because you are betting against nations that lack actual resources but have become wise on their ability to influence price action. They are partners in firms such as GS with huge financial leverage. The leveraged profits will always exceed those of actual producers.

Those who sell product are the tail, while those such as Israel who are able to actively influence geopolitical events are the dog who wags the tail. One can make many more billions or trillions off of the outcome, depending on the size of the bet, than those selling product. This is the reason we have financial markets instead of markets of products.

Or was it that we did go into Libya? (airplanes in their airspace dropping bombs on their people on their land is [and not for humanitarian reasons] going into a country)
