Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

A billboard was recently erected on Interstate 35 near Wyoming, Minnesota, with a picture of former President George W. Bush. The caption reads: "Miss Me Yet?" NPR and other media outlets have been unable thus far to find the person who paid for it.

Oops, wrong link.

Should have been this article w/larger photo of GWB billboard.

So, does anyone on here "miss him yet?" LOL

One of the physicists in my clinic has that picture on his desk.

As much as I dislike Obama, I'd have to say "No" to that sign.

I like this one, outside Kansas City:

www.missourirecord.com

I wonder if this little Marxist sack of shit has any idea how much he's despised outside his little blue state enclaves.

So, does anyone on here "miss him yet?"

Very much.

My fellow ET has that image for his laptop wallpaper. I think it's funny as hell

Being relieved to see Bush go was great preparation for when the Obamanator goes in 2012

I think its funny to to a point.

Unfortunately, the recession has ceased to be an abstract concept I hear about on the Tee Vee.

Nobody is going to move capital until this fucking economically illiterate child is:

a.) either removed from power, or

b.) a change of leadership occurs in the legislative branch that allows for the complete emasculation of said child's agenda.

Everybody is hunkered down, and getting madder by the minute.

It doesn't have to be this way, and everybody who matters knows it.

"a change of leadership occurs in the legislative branch that allows for the complete emasculation of said child's agenda."

Newt Gingrich saved the Clinton presidency

I only wish I could miss Obama. No more Castro like teleprompter speeches, no more lib media love fest with leg thrills, and no more innocent children being prostituted by their teachers to sing we love fearless leader.

I hear there is still an opening as a food critic on Chicago TV or if things get rough he can always get his spot back on the street corner slinging cook rock.

Miss me yet?

/obligatory

Be Well.

The Recession and the bail outs started when he was in office.

I would say I miss the Reagan or Newt Republicans, but not the GWB Republicans.

I think my unborn Grandchildren do.

An emphatic "No."

America will miss Jimmy Carter by the time Barankrupt is through.

"America will miss Jimmy Carter by the time Barankrupt is through."

OUCH!

That had to hurt.

But for the clear-thinking majority .... FF

The sole survivor...

Considering we still have the daily reminder of slow recovery from Bush's Great Recession, I don't see how this is anything other than GW flipping the bird to effected Americans everywhere.

Not to mention the $783B he spent.

No. Not at all. Thanks for asking, President Bush. Please check again in 20 years.

Yeah, like herpes.

LOL. Do you think Bush paid for the Billboard space?

"Nobody is going to move capital until this fucking economically illiterate child is: Blah,blah,blah...."

It's funny to see whiny little cuntrags like jackoff se mao
piss and moan about the fucked up mess their little hero left this country in.

And everybody who matters knows it.

Reagan or Newt Republicans, but not the GWB Republicans.

There is no difference.

Rightwingers spent much of their day hating someone or other and after considering their views on science you can say that the definition of a rightwinger is that they are hate-mongering Neanderthals who desperately want to return to the dark ages.

It's too bad we are still living with Bush's legacy. Even more unfair to see the rightists blaming the current economy on Obama. I wish Bush had left something to miss. As it is, he left America in a sorry, weakened, state.

Miss him like the drunken coke addicted cousin that has failed at every business he has run and is constantly looking to borrow money to fund his next big adventure.

So in other words, Obama hasn't done a fucking thing about any of it in the first year other than blame his predesessor. You Lefties are a comical bunch.

Miss George, no, but I sure wish we could start trying to miss Obama, too. "How can we miss you if you won't go away."

Well from the buzz I am hearing we may not be missing the Bush family much longer - it appears bubba Jeb is testing the presidential campaign waters.

Miss you???? actually thought you had died and reincarnated as Oboner..
that should answer your question though... miss you like terminal cancer...!!!

Wow, the Rtard history revisionists want the guy who created this mess back in office? Must be racially motivated...

#28

Jeb will only manage to prove what the libbies are saying about the Bush's. Sad. This is a great time for a great Republican to rise up, Obama's numbers continue to fall and the Dems insist on ramming through very unpopular bills and running up the debt. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a "great" Republican. It's certainly not Palin, and Romney, for some reason, is lying low. McCain will likely be fossilized by 2012.

Hell, I thought Obushma won the election...

Remember when Bush apologized to China, twice, when their kamikaze pilot crashed into our spy plane?

I don't miss that. I'm a bit alarmed that the right-wing does.

Obama's numbers continue to fall

"It's the economy, stupid." If unemployment turns around and the market is hovering around 12,000 points in 2012, those numbers will reverse.

Romney, for some reason, is lying low.

Maybe it's because as Governor, he brought Socialized Medicine to his State. How many Republicans (outside the Northeast) would vote for that?

Remember when Bush apologized to China, twice, when their kamikaze pilot crashed into our spy plane?

I don't miss that.

How can anyone miss apologizing? Obama has been doing it for a fucking year.

Just because Obama sucks doesn't mean that I miss Dubya.

So Bush paid for this out of his pocket. Not someone else? You're joking, right?

I used to have an "I Miss W" sticker on my car, until some lib keyed it. Free speech, yea, riiiiiight. As long as it's lib speech.

Love him or hate him, that is a hilarious billboard...perfect picture for it as well.

Why does the article state " Mysery Billboard"? I'm trying my hardest no to throw the retard flag, but after review, consider it thrown.

#40 | Posted by wisgod

I didn't say that. I doubt if Bush had anything to do with the sign. I simply mean that the way the sign is written, it is implied that Bush is asking the question.

Does it hurt when your panties twist that fast?

The hate just spurts out of the great unwashed today, doesn't it?

After eight of the most utterly disastrous years a politicized court ever inflicted on a nation, our economy in shambles, our rights in the toilet, our young (and the Mideast's young) slain in a pointless war because an illiterate president wanted to land on a carrier deck ...

And the DR's rigid righties spew their venom at ... Obama? herm

ordered the Navy SEALs to "apologize" directly to those pirates?

Did the "I'm sorry" come before or after the lead breakfast?

Back sorta on topic, Bush would make a great Marxist.

The part of "Groucho" would be perfect for him. No wait, too many lines to remember and Bill Clinton already has "Harpo" nailed down.

Never mind.

And the DR's rigid righties spew their venom at ... Obama? herm

Herm's right. We should give him 12 months in office before judging him.

Given the distance and conditions, I'd say probably the .50. Maybe the best damn shots ever made - 3 nearly simultaneous shots, from the fantail of a destroyer, in rough seas, at night, on Easter Sunday. Fuck you pirates!

Obama has at least proven he's found some balls, or borrowed them from Hilary. Don't forget the SEAL strike on the car full of T's in Somalia. Obama is an inept, bumbling fool when it come to the economy, health care, environment, and foreign policy (Iran), but militarily, once he gets off his ass, he's doing it pretty solid. Wish that made up for the rest of the disaster he's creating.

Curious... why would you pick a .50 for a short range shot from a moving platform?

#83 | Posted by REDIAL at 2010-02-09 04:24 PM | Reply

I know you're not asking me, but I'll add my 2 cents anyway...
A shot from a 50 cal doesn't need to be as accurate as one from a 7.62 to achieve an immediate kill shot, and with all that bouncing around and wind, I'd imagine the 50 cal was chosen for that reason.

#83 - my understanding was that it was a bit more than a short range shot, but you're right, it was pretty short, however one shot was through glass. Given the short distance, the 7.62 would be fine, great hitting power. I think the .50 has a flatter trajectory at shorter distances, though, but that shouldn't matter in this case. Still some of the best shooting, 3 near simultaneous shots at sea with three kills.

No issues soon, though, with DARPA's new EXACTO 50cal, with "fire and forget" capability. It' just not fair to the T's when the SEALs come calling. Or pirates for that matter.

lol.. I bet this is a ploy put out by Obama... during a tough political climate... sort of like the Osama tapes for Bush... designed to scare the public... works too... but WY??? wtf????

No one's gonna miss Bush when they have Sarah "Bush in Drag" Palin. Same moron, different sex.

QUESTION: How long will it take to quit discussing Bush's failures?

ANSWER: About as long as it takes to unwind them which according to my calculations is about 2 future generations of Americans all of which will have less than the previous.

QUESTION: Do I miss him yet?

ANSWER: About as much as I'd miss Bernie Madoff if he had just made off with my nest egg, because for many Americans that is what Bush has done.

Look left, look right, look left, look right, nose stuck up in the air, PRICELESS!

Here's an interesting article on the billboard:

Mystery swirls around George W. Bush 'Miss me yet?' billboard

Damned right! At least we knew that what he said was what he intended to do. With BO, he says he wants to do something, for instance, "I don't want to punish the banks (from his state of the Union Speech)", but he wants to inflict billions of fines on them. Watch what this president says, then watch what he ACTUALLY DOES. 180 out!

I love it. I wish I drove by that billboard everyday. Hilarious.

You talking about his 2000 debate unequivocal statements like (sic) "never send troops into harms way without a clear missiong and exit strategy", (sic) "I do not believe the role of our military should be 'nation building' ", or "I'm a 'unitor" not a divider", etc. ? If not, what?

I heard it was a Bush spy who worked for AIG Financial Products who forced the ISDA negotiators to agree to the collateral requirements for any ratings downgrades

For the amount of comedy that came out of that guy I would have to say yes. He was just a lot of fun to make fun of and hear all the jokes about him.

U.S. to Take Over AIG in $85 Billion Bailout; Central Banks Inject Cash as Credit Dries Up

Junk bonds will never be oulawed and a bond rating should not determine whether or not a corporation can legally issue bonds. Besides, they would just issue them overseas and foreign banks would issue them. I don't see how you could keep asset managers in America from buying them.

I have no problem regulating ratings agencies but that doesn't mean they are going to be any more accurate.

I am very well aware of Moody's role in rating Mortgage backs.

There are only three major bond raring agencies; Moody's, S&P, and Fitch and suspending one of them would only made banks and investors more reliant on less information

BIGPUN

Horribly off ratings are as useful as none at all. Public exposure of corporate ratings that far off plus huge fines are the only way to keep them in the ballpark and provide investors reasonably accurate information, wouldn't you agree?

Finally someone who could point out WHY Bush's budgets were so swollen.
I don't like Bush and never have but right is right.
The attack on 9/11 virtually destroyed the American economy and required huge outlays of money because of that.
At least $2-3 trillion were lost to the economy by those attacks, $1 trillion directly and $2T in residual losses from added costs of air transport, increasing security, retaliating against our attackers, etc.

Where Bush lost my support was once he decided to ignore bin Laden and go after Iraq, adding huge military costs that were not needed to be expended.

Now Obama's spending is completely different. Yes, the housing market collapsed but the basic REASON this occurred was not the fault of Bush. It was Barney Frank who caused the economic collapse by lobbying to pass his "wife's" sub-prime mortgage product when Herb Moses was V/P of marketing for Fannie Mae. This caused the collapse of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and hundreds of banks who ended up carrying mortgages that were basically worthless.

So every time you hear someone say that this recession was Bush's fault, remember the name Herb Moses and remember that his "husband" Barney Frank is the real reason we have the collapsed economy that we have.

Just like a stack of dominoes, once people were unable to pay their mortgages because they were encouraged to buy into Abe Moses' fantasy that they could buy bigger homes than they could afford to actually pay for. With adjustable interest rates, once the 5-7 years passed their house payments skyrocketed. They found themselves unable to make their payments and lost their homes. They reduced other spending and that is when the dominoes began falling. Other businesses lost money and were unable to pay their bank loans and when this mounted high enough, the banks themselves began failing.

These banks and businesses went out of business, costing jobs. Other companies could make their bank payments but had to reduce staff to do so. As the number of people losing jobs increased it became a multiplying effects with more and more people losing their jobs.

Bush wasn't innocent in this since he signed the laws that Barney Frank urged be made law. So he does bear blame as well. but the person that this recession is directly the fault of is Barney Frank and Osama bin Laden.

Obama's NOT trying to fix the problems caused by Barney Frank. He hasn't spent the economic recovery funds to create jobs. More jobs were lost than created by the Economic Recovery Act.

He says the number of unemployed is 10% or 9.7%.
NOT TRUE! The unemployed is about 18% and in some areas of the country it's as high as 30%. Plus the UNDER Employed, those who have jobs that pay less that their skills are worth. Both of my daughters work at jobs paying half what they were making when Bush was Pres. That's Obama's fault, not Bush's.

So the bottom line is that those ultra libs who say that this is Bush's recession don't have a clue what reality is.
Those who say Bush is entirely blameless are no less clueless.
Barney Frank is the architect of this recession and continues in his campaign to destroy the economy.
Obama's not fixing damage caused by Bush. He's fixing damage caused by B. Frank. He's causing his own damage that will end up even worse than Frank's if it were ever enacted.
That's the reality of America today.
That's why the Dems are going to suffer an even more crushing defeat than the one they suffered in 1994 when the Republican's took over both Houses.
The Repubs will do no better than the Dems at correcting this disaster since there's no difference between the two parties. Neither care about Americans, only about keeping their own jobs.
