Palin Slams Perry Aide for 'Retarded' Comment

Dave Carney, a campaign consultant for Texas Gov. Rick Perry, has been criticized by Sarah Palin for repeatedly using the word "retarded" during a conference call last month between the gubernatorial campaigns and a public television station. "That's just retarded," Carney reportedly said on the call with respect to some of debate planning. "That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard." Palin's spokeswoman responded, "While it seems few can comment on the veracity of the conversation, Gov. Palin believes crude and demeaning name calling at the expense of others is disrespectful."

Some words when taken by there literal definition yes, may be offensive, but you have to look at the person who said it, why they said it, and how they said it. When visiting my sister in Florida last year, I was in my somewhat artsy teenage niece's room. She had all sorts of stuff suspended by the ceiling by strings. Kind of weird.
