Obama does seem to have kicked butt by any measure. I'd say the "he's stupid and inarticulate" meme has taken a big hit. But his opposition needs to see him that way so badly they won't stop.
Which is fine. Anything that shows that they just mouth a form of words rather than have anything useful or vital to say.
Plain/Perry in 2012---And all of eighty electoral votes.

"Plain"---Meant to say Palin, of course. But the Freudian slip expresses what almost all of us know,

The Republicans made it very easy for him by boxing themselves into an ideological corner as the President very effectively pointed out. These days they almost have to be against caring for sick people, families, they've even attacked the President's childrens' dog! Their entire political future depends literally on the stupidity of the American people. The Republicans are hoping we won't remember who drove the country into the ditch and blame the guy who is trying to pull us out. If America buys it we will get what we deserve. Come on, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Just because George Bush was too stupid to say it right doesn't make it a bad idea.

Without exception (well, except from The Washington Times, FauzNews, and Greater Conservadonia) reporters and columnists noted the shallowness of the GOP's rhetorical points, the depth of Obama's knowledge, and the way he cast those aside the veracity of GOP talking points with facts and figures.
If the GOP think he's an empty suit they should do this once a month. Don't count on ever seeing anything like that again. The GOP got spanked in a civil way.

If that's his finest moment you already realize how pathetic he really is.

You do know that Chimpy's finest moment came when he and his bullhorn brought attention to his staggering failure on 9/11. Just how miserable was the drunken cumfart's Presidency that the only way he could increase his popularity was by ignoring 50 plus warnings that a terrorist attack on US soil was imminent?

"If it's his finest moment you realize how pathetic he (Obama) really is...."
You and I have different standards, of course. I'll start getting worried when Obama---
1) Needs secret electronic devices on his person to compete in public debates, or
2) He begins carrying plastic turkeys on Thanksgiving for a photo op.
I've wondered about that plastic turkey thing. I think the worry was that he'd drop a real bird.
After eight years of insisting that every goofball thing George W. Bush said and did hid real genius, I don't think I'm surprised that it's important for the Right to paint the new kid as being inarticulate and stupid.
Don't get me wrong: I think it will be a while before we know if Obama will succeed or fail in his job. The outcome remains in doubt.
But I agree with something said up-thread: We knew Bush was a failure on 09/11/01. Obama remains about 3,000 points ahead of that debacle.

When will you learn that repeating it over and over doesn't make it true.
