Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Reporting from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. - Fears of a new "super snake" emerging in the Everglades grew this week during a hunt to track South Florida's invasive python population.

A three-day, state-coordinated hunt that started Tuesday had, by Wednesday, turned up at least five African rock pythons -- including a 14-foot-long female -- in a targeted area in Miami-Dade County.

We get these reports every so often; always the same lesson to be had: don't get an exotic pet unless you intend to keep it for its entire life. Too many people get the cute novelty pet and then realize what they have and let it go in the everglades.

Allow free trade in the hides or place a bounty on them. If those critters are worth a lot dead then dead they will be.
