Former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton will be asked by President Barack Obama to help lead the US relief effort in Haiti, an official close to Bush said Thursday on condition of anonymity.

This might work out. One thing W could go very well was raise money.

Yeah, but Haiti is filled with dark-skinned Negroes.

Yeah, I am sure that Momma Bush is busy donating money to the relief fund to buy Fraudster Neil's computer learing software to send to them.

I think they ought to send Bush down their in person so the people of Haiti can thank him for the coup he encouraged.

Even Obama realizes that as bad as Bush was, he's better than anyone on O's rolodex.

On the other thread about this, the general consensus was that Bush was a horrible choice to send to Haiti. I agree with that.

So the question is now: Why is Obama sending Bush to Haiti if he's such a horrible choice? Where is his judgement?

If Bubba can keep GW from sending relief aid to Jamaica instead of Haiti.... this might work out OK.

Bush was a horrible choice to send to Haiti

Who said anything about W actually going to Haiti?

"So the question is now: Why is Obama sending Bush to Haiti if he's such a horrible choice? Where is his judgement?"

After due reflection, I think I've found the answer:

Obama, like a lot of Americans, was probably good and appalled by Dubya's lackadaisical approach to ameliorating the suffering of New Orleans, a largely African-American city - a blot on Dubya's record so bad even Dubya himself understood that he'd fucked up.

So, Obama has offered Dubya the biggest chance he'll ever have to expiate his mistake - but to get it, Dubya has to work for exactly the non-white, non-WASP, non-Republican people he so roundly failed in New Orleans.

I'm serious - Dubya can't very well turn this down, but it will have him doing nice things for people he wouldn't be caught dead associating with.

Very clever, Mr. President. I mean the present one, of course.

It's not hard to imagine Bush drinking a Prestige with some of the good old boys down there, the ex- tontonmacoute types.

"If the Preznet loans me Air Force One, I'll be glad to fly over them Haters".

"Yeah, I am sure that Momma Bush is busy donating money to the relief fund to buy Fraudster Neil's computer learing software to send to them."

What??? You don't think Haitians need learning software????

Golden oldies:
"Most of these people are underpriveleged, this is working out very well for them."

Bush will volunteer to fly to France and beg BAby Doc Duvalier to come back and take over Haiti.

en.wikipedia.org

Dubya is not the man for the job as another poster pointed out the other day. Bush took the wrong side in the Haiti revolt and is not liked there.

If I was W, I'd tell B.O. to go fuck himself. But that's just my opnion.

"Yeah, but Haiti is filled with dark-skinned Negroes"

Yeah, with that dialect there too... Better not send Bubba, he'll have them all fetching him coffee!

"If I was W, I'd tell B.O. to go fuck himself."

Obama should have never mentioned that he inherited wars, economic disaster, etc. He should have pretended all the problems began the day he was inaugurated....like the guy who tried to blame 9-11 on Clinton did.

Better not send Bubba, he'll have them all fetching him coffee!

And Cigars....

"Better not send Bubba, he'll have them all fetching him coffee!"

Bubba will raise so much money they will be happy to fetch it for him.

Hilarious how some tards make everything about race!

"Very clever, Mr. President. I mean the present one, of course."

I think this would further distance Bush from Cheney.

When I first saw the headline I thought that this was a wise choice. After all, Bush and Clinton worked very well together after the tsumani disaster several years back.

Then I realized it was little Bush that Obama was asking to help Haiti and am now wondering what Obama was thinking!

All this means is that Bubba and W get free tickets to this years Superbowl and get to take a bow.

Part of a never ending bi-partisan effort to maintain an image of legitimate bi-partisan, honest, Democratic Government. You can't be a member of either party unless you play along with this ruse. Give me a fucking break.

That said, it is pleasing to see an immediate response to the Haiti disaster, however flawed. Obama is still better than Shrub, even if he doesn't really represent change, which we desperately need still.

...am now wondering what Obama was thinking! -- #21 | Posted by bartimus

Me too. In my cynical moments, I figure it's a political ploy designed to mitigate the right's criticisms of U.S. relief efforts.

In my more hopeful moments, I wonder if it's an attempt to elevate American politics above the sort of Hutu-Tutsi dynamics we've been seeing for too long.

I'm not sure why any of these people would be interested in helping Haiti now. They certainly didn't have any interest in helping Haiti when they were in the Oval Office.

Bubba will raise so much money they will be happy to fetch it for him.

Old enough to know better.

"Hilarious how some tards make everything about race!"

Even more hilarious how some others pretend that they're above racism when their party's track record clearly indicates otherwise, token party chairman not to the contrary.

"I think this would further distance Bush from Cheney."

Always a blessing devoutly to be wished for.

Hey, I'm not saying Republicans are above racism. I believe quite the opposite. That said, I highly doubt Obama asked Bush to help in this effort because the victims were "non-white." Obama doesn't like to play the race card. I highly doubt he's using a catastrophe of this magnitude to make some racial statement, even if his douchey supporters think it would clever.

I suspect he asked Bush to help because he is connected to very wealthy people both here and abroad.

Obama continues in his, in my opinion pointless, attempts to heal the partisan wounds in this country.

The wounds won't begin to heal as long as the right sees opportunity in them.

The wounds won't begin to heal as long as the right sees opportunity in them.

I think you mean "either party."

Bush was president for 8 years. Surely he can run a relief effort. I mean it's not as hard as conducting an illegal war or ruining the economy.

clinton can help him make it through.

I saw clinton on cnn, apparently haiti has some special meaning to him because that's where he and hillary honeymooned. When he was speaking about haiti, he almost seemed like a real person.

Obama made Bush out to be Satan and now he wants his help. That is funny.

I think you mean "either party."

Yeah, Obama's giving Dubya the opportunity to redeem his reputation is clear evidence for Dems pushing the partisan divide...

So what you're saying is that he's probably got 6 or 7 kids there? (Yes, a shameless Clinton joke... :^) )

"Obama Asks Bush, Clinton to Help in Haiti"

Birds of a Feather - TRANSLATION:Theres lots and lots of MONEY to be "Ripped Off" in Haiti from the $Billions in International Aid and Obama wants the "Expertise" of the Bushs and Bill Clinton in siphoning off a large chunk into his own off shore bank account...maybe he'll even use Clinton's Israeli bank where Marc Rich deposited that $20 million bucks for his Presidential Pardon!!!

On the other thread about this, the general consensus was that Bush was a horrible choice to send to Haiti. I agree with that.

The words of a completely uninformed fool.

www.washingtonpost.com

President Bush's call for a doubling of the U.S. commitment to battling the global AIDS crisis was met yesterday with broad support uncommon in Washington. International aid organizations, advocacy groups and members of Congress from both parties offered praise for the proposal -- even if some argued that the proposed increase is insufficient.

Speaking in the Rose Garden yesterday, Bush called on Congress to increase the funding for the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to $30 billion over five years, beginning in October 2008. In his State of the Union address in 2003, the president promised $15 billion to fight AIDS over the five years ending in September 2008 -- then the largest financial commitment by a nation to battling a disease.

The increased commitment Bush is asking for would pay for AIDS treatment for 2.5 million people in 15 countries -- more than double the 1.1 million who now receive treatment through the program.

Why didn't President Obama put Vice President Biden in the lead? Supposedly he has many years of experience and numerous resources in his "ROLODEX". This would raise the money needed for Haiti and keep all of the credit for the Oboma Administration?

Send Joe, he is our MAN! If Joe can't do it, NOBODY can.

You continue to swallow it all....

You're a real shit stain RIR.

Obama realizes that Clinton has a PROVEN record when it comes to raising money. He also realizes that meshing GW in the process has a possibility of healing wounds of the last decade.

Fergit "Obama's not reacting quickly enough to this disaster and thus it's 'his Katrina'" meme.

Blubbering BeckySue is out with the latest talking point....

Obama is reacting too quickly.

I think personally that it deepens the divide to see him react this rapidly to Haiti.

S'rsly, you can't make this shit up.

Be Well.

On Topic?

Obama taps the two guys who came together previously on the Tsunami relief effort to do it again fer Haiti?

Yeah, that makes sense.

This is an issue with some folks?

Really?

LOL.

Be Well.

Agreed. Obama picks up the phone and says, "Mr. President, I have to call on you to serve your country once more." That's the way it works.
Bush should be jumping at the opportunity to do this, too. Especially considering the lame ass work he's been able to bring in lately. Plus I'm sure Laura is desperate to get him out of the house.

"Bush should be jumping at the opportunity to" clear more brush.

Not to mention that stallion, who must be awful tired of those same cold hands.

Of course that depends on how ugly the stallion is. It might not have a back up plan.
:)

lmao!

I would say that sounds like the voice of experience, but I love ya too much.

Putting these two clowns in charge of humanitarian relief is like putting the underpants bomber in charge of airport security. Curly and Schemp would do a better job. Yeah Clinton may have honeymooned in the Caribbean but his policies screwed the people of Haiti. Ditto Bush. Clinton on TV was urging money donations and discouraging direct action. Typical. That's because he doesn't understand how to do what needs to be done. Kudos to a President who has more ideas, initiative and humanity than both his lunkhead predecessors. BTW, why don't these chaps donate some of that Presidential library treasure to the effort? Alyssa Mallano donated $50,000.

It was interesting to see the 3 of them together--I must admit Clinton and Bush seemed to be very human and Obama reading his teleprompter had a hard time not being his usual arrogant, condescending, narcissistic self.

Kudos to Pres Obama for swift action on Hati.

Kudos to both ex-Pres's for joining in the action. Kudos to Obama for putting party aside & asking them to help.

Nothing 'bad' by any of these men or their responce.

As for the twats on THIS site .... lol .... seriously, go back into your hole & grow up just a little bit, apperently you were not ready to be hatched.

BTW, thru Pres G W Bush, what president did the most for African countries in both human/resources & pure cash as a total $ amount or as a % of GDP??? That's correct people, G W Bush, #2 was Bill Clinton. Stop as crap & just say "good job men" & move on .... or shoot yourself in the face, both work equally well.

"Stop as crap & just say "good job men" & move on"

Needed repeating! : )
