Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) did not commit voter fraud, and it didn't misuse federal funding in the last five years, according to a recently released report prepared by the Congressional Research Service (CRS), a nonpartisan investigational arm of Congress. Among its findings, CRS also reported that recently enacted federal legislation to prohibit funding to ACORN raises significant constitutional concerns.

Nice try Doc. Keep pulling for those straws.

Hey Doc I just saw a pig do a low level fly by right after I read the ACORN headline, I haven't been drinking YET and my ex wife is out of town, what could it be...

Pete the Elder

Clearly the definitive source.

Yeah, yeah....elderly Irish will tell you Tammaney Hall was honest as the day is long, too.

Sarvis strongly identifies with any group that consumes as much blueberry gin as himself.

It's fascinating that none of the usual crew of Twenty-Six Percenter whiners and complainers can quite pull themselves together enough to offer any credible refutation of the article or the conclusions it reports.

And there it stands.

Hmmmm.... could've sworn that eight ACORN lackies pleaded quilty to voter fraud in 2007 in St. Louis...

I guess, Congressional math says 2>5 years ago :P

ACORN's not guilty, just it's employees!

It's mentioned in the report (judiciary.house.gov), which you should probably consider reading before making further comment.

'Truthout' is your source Sarvis?

Yet you expect all to blindly accept without question.....

I swear to Gawd Sarvis....You're two chapters short of a novel

ACORN's not guilty, just it's employees!

If you view porn while at church does this mean your church supports porn?

No, but it probably means you're getting more out of the "service" than anyone else.

Yet you expect all to blindly accept without question.....

Of course not. Althoiugh I realize locksteppers like you are accustomed to doing exactly that, the article's posted so you can read it and add it to the mix, all the better to having an informed opinon. But since your cup of soma comes fully brewed I doubt the information will help.

For dingbats like 2008atl, you'll find a link to the CRO report at #9 above.

WARNING: It may not dovetail with your existing views about the subject. In which case, do what you do best: ignore it.

So the CRS issues a report stating that A) ACORN wasn't involved in voter fraud activities B) Didn't mis-use federal funding and that C) The video tape debacle was inherently illegal and that D) The "Defund Acorn" act brought on the heels on those tapes may well be unconstitutional.

That about it?

Well, aside from the "Mountain outta a molehill" thing, of course.

The GOP made a big deal outta ACORN and claimed they were a "criminal enterprise" in an obvious attempt to foster xenophobic if not downright racist reactions in their mouth breathing base.

FTA: In the story, the House Judiciary Committee member describes the ACORN saga as "the largest corruption crisis in the history of America" and says, "It's thousands of times bigger than Watergate because Watergate was only a little break-in by a couple of guys."

Worse than Watergate?

Pfft.

A recently announced GAO report on the de-funding of ACORN is in the works too.

Let's see wot that says.

Be Well.
