Brown was asked, why with such high unemployment is the U.S. bringing in foreign workers? "Americans would rather sit on their butt and get welfare than work for a living," Brown said. "Americans are not raising children to go out and be farm laborers."

What nonsense! Most Americans are more than willing to "work for a living", but for most Americans isolation without a shitter or several other modern conveniences, for three years, is not a living. I think the conditions could easily be made tolerable, such that many citizens would be willing to take the work, especially with current unemployment rates. There is no excuse for this but greed.

More nonsense but this job pays a helluva lot more:
"Cash for Caulkers... Government Spends $2 million to Caulk 7 Homes" www.youtube.com
Gotta love how that stimulus money is spent.

I don't much about agricultural work but the job conditions described in the article don't sound legal. I would wager that if you hired an American and expected him to stay out in the field for weeks without a bathroom, you'd be in trouble with the department of labor. The real issue here is that you can't hire Americans
to do the jobs as cheaply - either due to pay and/or working conditions. And this is the real issue in every single case of an illegal immigrant being hired to do a job over an American.
There are no jobs Americans won't do.

My first real job in jr. high was washing dishes in a Mexican restaurant in Orange County. There was no friction at all. Nobody gave a shit about the color of your skin, it was a job and somebody had to do it. The food was free so it helped. La Fonda Restaurant.

Nope no Kip. There was Bob, Julie, Raulynn, and Slenka. Slenka was a Norwegian from Argentina.
