So why does anyone care now?

"YES! A four or five day hurricane party in LaFayette, LA for GoM oil workers. The Holiday Inn loves the hurricanes. They get rich from oil patch trash. We will be evacuated in a few hours.

I mean obviously even those in the area were desperately afraid for their lives and could think of nothing else but the lack of Federal aid...

I'd guess the bills finally came in and Alabama wants the Feds to pay them?

"At least in the oil industry, the private sector is always ahead of the government. You mentioned Ida. During Katrina, we were evacuated to New Orleans. A full 24 hours before Nagin ordered an evacuation, my company moved us all to LaFayette because they saw the storm coming."

My industry is the same... they react quickly to get their people amd gear out of the way when they can. (We can't move, we just cover up)

My only point here is that those who brushed off "Ida" as an insignificant event while it was actually happening don't get to come back a month later and question the lack of Federal response as if it was some kind of impending disaster.

Here's a quick quiz:

a) "Ida" was a massive storm proving Climate Change is real.

b) Obama made a good call not freaking out about "Ida".

I think we're on the same page anyway.
