"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in the L.A. drunk tank."

Ugh. She looks like Corky pre-op.

A spokesperson for John Kerry said the US Senator's daughter was stopped by police because of an expired registration and was released "after the results of a breathalyzer test at the police station were under the legal limit."

So she was under the legal limit but in Californeeya you can still be prosecuted fer DUI even if you pass the test?

WTF is up with that?

Spud's big question here is how the fuck could her registration have expired?

Insurance expires yes but registration?

Be Well.

So she was under the legal limit but in Californeeya you can still be prosecuted fer DUI even if you pass the test?

The test was for alcohol. It is possible to be under tha influence (the "I" in DUI) of other substnances.

Insurance expires yes but registration?

Unless time stops. Here in the US (at least in every state I am aware of) we are required to register our cars every year. If you don't have the right colored year sticker on your tags, you get fined.

The test was for alcohol. It is possible to be under tha influence (the "I" in DUI) of other substnances.

And it's posible to prosecute someone based on failed field sobriety test w/o any further proof?

Wow, that's pretty fucked up.

If you don't have the right colored year sticker on your tags, you get fined.

Yeah, same here but the tags are "proof of insurance" not registration.

Registration is merely a legal document esplaining who owns the vehicle that gets renewed annually along with yer insurance.

Be Well.

And it's posible to prosecute someone based on failed field sobriety test w/o any further proof?

I am not familiar with California laws, but if the field sobriety test is a "touch your nose" thing, I don't think so. However, field breathalyzers are every bit as accurate (if not identical devices) as those in the office.

Yeah, same here but the tags are "proof of insurance" not registration.

Different here (in states I am aware of)

It never says she was arrested for DUI, only that a test was given.

It does say her registration was expired. It also says she was released on $5K bond.

I've never heard of anyone getting arrested for expired registration much less having to post bond to get released. What is missing from this story?

Dead hooker in the passenger seat?

It looks as if she failed the field sobriety test then later, possibly a couple of hours later, she passes one at the station. Given who she is, it'll be swept away.

Ugh. She looks like Corky pre-op.

I personally think that she has some nice features.

Too bad she didn't get liquered up and drive in Massachusetts...she could have just followed in the footsteps of another Mass elite and plowed her car into a lake and walked away unpunished!

Now let's be fair. The Kennedy's had to cough up a cool $1 mil in hush money to buy off the victim's family.

That's serious scratch. Or, what Alex's dad calls 'walking around cash'

Is this the whore that showed her titties? What a fucking lush!

Stupid. Isn't everyone in LA driving drunk? Seems like it.

Nah. Some take the bus or ride the train and a few of them stagger down the street.

Thanks for the warning. Is that the photo where she's wearing that see through black dress? That was nice.

It's a lot more trouble and money than it used to be. Cost Shrub $200 for just one of his DUIs. Cheney had multiple DUI violations, including shooting friends in the face.

Whatever happened to Al Gore's son, wasn't he busted for cocaine?

Her left tit looks like Cookie post-op. If it had a moustache.

"Cheney had multiple DUI violations, including shooting friends in the face."

There was no crime there. It happened on private property. And the guy apologized for getting himself shot, so no harm no fowl.

Apparently everyone's getting ready for the holiday season. Dick Lugar's wife was picked up for DUI and hit-and-run on Wednesday. www.washingtonpost.com

Hee hee.

In Cali we pay a registration fee every year (+$70 SMOG every other year), with that we get tags to put on the plates indicating we paid for that year. CHP typically will let a couple months go, but if they need probable cause, they use this to pull you over.

Spud, I've live, and had vehicles registered in, California, Montana, Texas and Illinois. They all require vehicles you drive to be registered in that state, if you live there, after a grace period. They all also require annual renewal of said registration and give you a sticker to put on your license plate as proof.

Registration does not connote ownership. For example, one person may OWN a vehicle which is registered by another person (details may vary from state to state). You may also own a vehicle which is not actually driven (I have a motorcycle which I own, but haven't driven in years because it needs repairs.) Most states have different documents as proof of ownership and registration.

Vermin barely gets his Best Post of the Year entry in under the deadline.

#10 Unfortunately you could use her mouth for a can opener.

Big Hollywood is dead and she's trying to make it in the industry. Buck up, Alexheadria: I hear the Secret Service is looking for drivers.

Funny Flag

People who have enough money to buy liquor or drugs have enough money to hire a cab; but not always enough sense to do so. People who drive under the influence are idiots and risk the lives of their fellow man.

Pretty selfish people, aren't they---- thinking only about themselves.

WTF is up with that is if driving impaired, even while under the legal limit for alcohol (0.08% bv), may still be enough to get you convicted.

From this.

Driving Under Influence of Alcohol or Drugs

23152. (a) It is unlawful for any person who is under the influence of any alcoholic beverage or drug, or under the combined influence of any alcoholic beverage and drug, to drive a vehicle.

Get it? Don't come out here and drive on our roads if you're even slightly loaded.

Now let's be fair. The Kennedy's had to cough up a cool $1 mil in hush money to buy off the victim's family.

And this is news because?

Whoop-de-do....though she does seem to have a nice rack...

And this is news because?

They're reaching because of all the shit the Bush twins caught for being underage lushes.

Yeah, same here but the tags are "proof of insurance" not registration."

Well that and you've paid the county your annual "road tax" fee.

I love deflection

#38 | Posted by chickenrancher at 2009-11-21 10:28 AM

What deflection? The cops let her go when the breathylizer showed her to be under the limit. They had nothing except a reckless driving citation that could have been as easily caused by a dropped cell phone. She's above the age of consent and, pending any labs done by the cops for other intoxicants, not guilty of DUI. If she was full of some other intoxicant, then all bets are off. The only reason this made the headlines, and onto here, is because of her last name. Did you bother to read the article? This is a bullshit "payback" attempt by desparate
people trying to distract from much more serious issues.
