"Fire up the presses!"

Oh, wait..they're running at capacity...

"Somebody call China and order some more presses!"

I expect Congress to extend benefits, at least until the 2010 election.

WTF! thought big O -- mister POTUS & congress signed this into law during the past couple weeks. was the wording of the bill was goofed? it was an extension, right? um, WTF, over.

er, take it easy on me...posting from my phone.

Let them eat cake, if they can find some in a dumpster.

Bummer!

We're heading for the day of reckoning, I'm telling ya. Its all building up to something. Something that can only be resolved with fire.

In my case I was injured on the job and was on disability
for almost a year. After my rehab they placed me on un-enjoyment. Since my physical abilities didn't allow me to return to my trade I,m looking to alternatives. Retraining is available if you apply.
I think the program I'm in is a good thing. If it gets me into a good paying job, I get off un-enjoyment and again become a contributing tax paying citizen.

TARP fell under the last guy. You know that. Thank goodness that blank check Paulson wanted didn't happen.

WASHINGTON The Obama administration's new plan to bail out the nation's banks was fashioned after a spirited internal debate that pitted the Treasury secretary, Timothy F. Geithner, against some of the president's top political hands.

www.nytimes.com

Still don't see the Obama Admin's plan to bail out Main Street, or does letting the unemploymet rate go up to 10.2% count as 'stimulating' the middle class?

Most of the TARP money was already handed out by February. Nice try.

Oh wait, there's a 'jobs' summit coming up in a month or two, isn't there? Ideas anyone? LOL.

"Oh wait, there's a 'jobs' summit coming up in a month or two, isn't there? Ideas anyone?" - Cookfish

Yes. Never elect another C- student like Bush President ever again.

Most of the TARP money was already handed out by February. Nice try.

You completely ignore the fact that Bammy & Timmy have developed their own bank strategy, and have committed billions more, as well as the fact that Bammyt was elected more than a year ago, and the banks are the only ones he's asssisted. Nice try. Again, where's The Obama administration's new plan to bail out the nation's unemployed, Einstein? All you have are lame Bush deflections. Not surprised.

But Bush said....But Cheney did.....But Rush said...Haha how 'bout that Sarah Palin?

--Timex

George Bush IS the male Sarah Palin. We know you're really embarrassed by him.

Nothing ever changes, obama's will be one term.

Unemployment will dictat that.

Obama's will be one term.

Actually, Obama will probably get a second term cos there will be enuff sane and informed people around who will still remember the debacle that was BushCo and they will not allow the rethugs and their divisive, economically ruinous pro corporate, anti-people policies another shot to further erode America's standard of living so soon.

The GOP have proven time and time again they can't be trusted with money plus their social agenda is divisive, unConstitutional and immoral.

Unemployment is rising in much of the west due to China's emergence as the manufacturing capitol of the planet.

These future unemployed voters you allude to should most likely realize that it's the Democrats who want to give them a hand up while the rethugs mostly just want to kick them to the curb.

We will all see in time who was correct here.

Be Well.

Obama will probably get a second term ...

Said same thing about Jimmy Carter in 1977.

Blind allegiance to a political party is not the stuff good prognostications are made of.

Said same thing about Jimmy Carter in 1977.

Yeah, but that was before Raygun and his cronies cut a deal behind Carters back with the Iranians to hold off releasing the hostages until after the election in return fer under the table military supplies.

Nobody could have predicted that level of corruption and party over country by the GOPhers at that time.

Course, we all know better now.

Some of us, anyways.

Be Well.

Nobody could have predicted that level of corruption and party over country by the GOPhers at that time.

People said the same thing in 1977. Just substitute "Nixon" with "Reagan" in your argument.

As I said, mindless paratisanship is not a very useful prognostication tool

Let them pull themselves up by their bootstraps!

"I ain gotta pay no rent no mo, no car note, I'm a gettin some obama money!"

Ummmmmmm...

...he gave away money alright. It just wasn't to the Victim Class that elected him.

I hope Obama will change his focus from spending trillions on health care to help about 3 million, to focusing on helping business's create jobs for American citizens. Remove the 'work visa's' that companies are exploiting. They are not needed.

Unemployment will dictat that.

----------------
Reagan had high unemployment and was elected a second term, it then droped to below 6%.

Barack Obama is an empty suit. He probably believed, once, that the BushBama bailouts of Wall Street were a good idea, which is why he appointed a tax-dodging Fed head to be his Treasury Secretary. But even Obama isn't dumb enough to believe it worked.

The bailouts helped AIG, Goldman, Citi, and a handful of other blue-blood firms, to the detriment of everyone else. And if you rewarded any of the Democrats who voted for the TARP with re-election, you're as much to blame as they.

As far as Obama getting a second term, that might be overestimating the intelligence of the average American voter. His bid for a second term is riding on how good he can make his failures look like successes.

If he gets us the public option I'll call him the GOAT president.

Let them eat cake, if they can find some in a dumpster.

Why would you buy food from a dumpster, Snoops? Oh, well...Hey, wanna try your luck at Three-Card Monte?

As long as the Democrats keep threatening with more government intervention in the Free Market, the unemployment rate will not drop.

No business is going to start hiring until they know the cost of operating their enterprise. With Cap N Trade, Health Care, Card Check, New Taxes, New Regulations, and Bush's tax cuts expiring there is too much uncertainty so businesses will just sit on the fence.

When they say we are only going to tax people making 250,000 or more. Well what does a small business make? Probably that much or more.

That said small businesses are one of the drivers in lowering the unemployment rate so if their cost are going up the unemployment rate will probably not drop.

You pay with your health dok. Maybe your mind is too far gone from eating all the crap.

Oh, I see, Snoops: It's crap you're looking for. Then you better abandon your search in the dumpster. Your particular brand of grocery store looks more like this: cache3.asset-cache.net

"As long as the Democrats keep threatening with more government intervention in the Free Market, the unemployment rate will not drop."

Thank you Mr. Economic expert who supported the policies that brought us to the point we are now at.
I love getting lectures from people who were wrong about everything for decades.

Keep being naive, Danni. Goldman and Blackstone need to pay Christmas bonuses. I hope your check is in the mail.

"I think it is important, though, to recognize if we keep
on adding debt, even in the midst of this recovery, that
at some point, people could lose confidence in the U.S.
economy in a way that could actually lead to a
double-dip recession."
-Pres. Barack Obama, week of 11-16-2009,
interview with Fox News' Major Garrett in Beijing

"I intend to take serious steps to reduce America's
long-term deficit because debt-driven growth cannot
fuel America's long-term prosperity."
-Pres. Barack Obama

"If nothing is done, this recession might linger for
years. Unemployment will approach double digits. Our
nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some
point, we may not be able to reverse."
-Pres. Barack Obama, speaking in support of the
original Stimulus Bill

back and forth, back and forth and going nowhere. NEITHER party cares about us and never will. decades of the same ol campaign rhetoric: abortion, social security, race relations, health care reform, education, blah blah blah. these things are NEVER going to be solved because they fuel every election. we allow these crooks to feed at the trough for a lifetime. they all have squandered our national wealth, our power and prestige and driven the country into the ground. this idiot serving now is just the most clueless of them all. if the media had done their job they would have ended his campaign immediately by exposing what we now know about him. they just chose him as the one to hang the collapse of america on.
a nation of sheep, is led by wolves.

Responding to #39, here are some of my favorite quotes from Will Rogers (whose wisdom still fits our nation):

"The difference between a Republican and a Democrat is the Democrat is a cannibal they have to live off each other, while the Republicans, why, they live off the Democrats."

"The more you observe politics, the more you've got to admit that each party is worse than the other."

"Things in our country run in spite of government, not by aid of it."

"As long as the Democrats keep threatening with more government intervention in the Free Market, the unemployment rate will not drop."

The free market has made us the greatest country on earth. Socalism is dragging us down just like it did Russia. You do remember what happened to them don't you? Maybe you want us to be like Cuba, another fine example of socalism.

Bet all those rethugs out of work wish they were in union jobs now. Even if we get laid off we get partial wages for up to a year. that won't be happening anytime soon where I work. Business is booming and come first quarter we are going to do some additional hiring.

Funny thing just now. I was at Wal-mart getting some Armor All and I was wearing my union yes t-shirt and you could see the glares from the local retards who wish they could have a union job but are forced to work for slave wages with shit benefits but they still hate the union. Must be jealousy.

Interesting. So even though you can afford to buy your Armor-All at a store that buys from union-only shops, even your loyalty is for sale.

Save Money. Live Better. Even if you've got a union job.

You dumbfuck, you post here daily about being broke and living in a shithole. You practically offered oral to Goatman if he'd get you a job.
Now you're pretending as if you have some great paying union job.

Look, we all know you're a fraud and pretend to be liberal, but at least have your character stay in character. It's like you forget your own schtik.

They were "glaring" at the retard in the union shirt because any real union member wouldn't be shopping at WalMart.

Benefits are nice, but jobs are what they need and with the exception of adding some govt jobs, this administration is failing in 'creating' jobs with the exception of phony ones.

Main Street was bailed out prior to the economic plunge. Liberals gave you unemployment benefits, welfare, hedicare/medicaid, social security, food stamps, housing vouchers, etc. If it weren't for these programs, our country would be DOA. Do yourself a favor, and say a little prayer to Roosevelt and past liberals. Stupid whiny NOPers.

Everybody remember, in less than a year conservatives were calling for heads.

What goes around........................

That's not right. I know a union guy who are out of work for five months and have had no income other than the standard unemployment from the state.

On top of that, they are still paying union dues!!!!

What kind of bullshit is that?

We sat and discussed him working outside the union and he sad taht if he quits and gets a non-union job he has to pay a penalty to get back in.

What kind of bullshit is that?

The unions, from this point of view, are the biggest G-D scam in the US today!

Also, he said that he didn't want the shame of taking a non-union job TO FEED HIS FAMILY!

In my opinion, unions are just like a religion.

Yeah, but that was before Raygun and his cronies cut a deal behind Carters back with the Iranians to hold off releasing the hostages until after the election in return fer under the table military supplies.

#22 | Posted by dethspud

And just exactly how did that afect the election? No one knew they were going to be realeased so that couldn't swing the vote.

Carter lost because of high unemployment, no gasoline, and high interest rares. The man was a failure to say the least.

#51 | Posted by Sniper

What's more, Spudleo, The Iranians hate Carter for starting the war between Iran and Iraq.

Eddie we pay into unemployment insurance. Similar to disability insurance.

Boeing seems to disagree with you. so do most auto companies who've built new plants in the past couple decades. how high is unemployment in Detroit? when will you be moving south Jack?

yes, ironic that you were shopping at a store with a reputation for unsavory emploment practices.

"go union! but fuck these people; I want cheap chinese shit!" -- Jackass

here you go & this is prior to October's increase:

www.bls.gov

"In September, the two divisions that comprise the Detroit-Warren-Livonia, Mich.,metropolitan area registered the highest jobless rates: Detroit-Livonia-Dear-born, 18.3 percent..."

even better: 'bring out your dead! bring out your dead!'
