1 Million Unemployed Might Lose Benefits Soon

More than 1 million people will run out of unemployment benefits in January unless Congress quickly extends federal emergency aid, a nonprofit group said Wednesday.

In my case I was injured on the job and was on disability
for almost a year. After my rehab they placed me on un-enjoyment. Since my physical abilities didn't allow me to return to my trade I,m looking to alternatives. Retraining is available if you apply.
I think the program I'm in is a good thing. If it gets me into a good paying job, I get off un-enjoyment and again become a contributing tax paying citizen.

Actually, Obama will probably get a second term cos there will be enuff sane and informed people around who will still remember the debacle that was BushCo and they will not allow the rethugs and their divisive, economically ruinous pro corporate, anti-people policies another shot to further erode America's standard of living so soon.

The GOP have proven time and time again they can't be trusted with money plus their social agenda is divisive, unConstitutional and immoral.

Unemployment is rising in much of the west due to China's emergence as the manufacturing capitol of the planet.

These future unemployed voters you allude to should most likely realize that it's the Democrats who want to give them a hand up while the rethugs mostly just want to kick them to the curb.

Barack Obama is an empty suit. He probably believed, once, that the BushBama bailouts of Wall Street were a good idea, which is why he appointed a tax-dodging Fed head to be his Treasury Secretary. But even Obama isn't dumb enough to believe it worked.

The bailouts helped AIG, Goldman, Citi, and a handful of other blue-blood firms, to the detriment of everyone else. And if you rewarded any of the Democrats who voted for the TARP with re-election, you're as much to blame as they.

As long as the Democrats keep threatening with more government intervention in the Free Market, the unemployment rate will not drop.

No business is going to start hiring until they know the cost of operating their enterprise. With Cap N Trade, Health Care, Card Check, New Taxes, New Regulations, and Bush's tax cuts expiring there is too much uncertainty so businesses will just sit on the fence.

When they say we are only going to tax people making 250,000 or more. Well what does a small business make? Probably that much or more.

That said small businesses are one of the drivers in lowering the unemployment rate so if their cost are going up the unemployment rate will probably not drop.
