Detroit Getting New Daily Newspaper

A new daily newspaper is being launched in the Detroit area, where the two largest newspapers have reduced home delivery to survive in a struggling industry. Brothers Mark and Gary Stern said Friday they'll start publishing the Detroit Daily Press on Nov. 23, selling it for 50 cents daily and $1 on Sundays. Home delivery starts Nov. 30 in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.

Even though up till now Detroit has two major newspapers, the News and the Free Press, they are both owned by the same company, the Detroit Media Partnership so in essence Detroit is a one newspaper town. When they announced back in March that they were reducing home delivery I thought it was a good idea, but I am not happy with it. I hope to soon read in the new Detroit Daily Press that Media Partnerships files for bankruptcy. They have a shitty service and have been taking their customers for granted. No more. Like Comcrapt who now has to compete with the likes of U-Verse, there will finally be some free market capitalism and competition in this towns's newspaper business. I can't wait to call Detroit Media Partnership and tell them to go fuck themslvles with their lousy service.

It'll be swell. Detroiters in the less swank arrondissments (which is nearly all of them) now have a choice of which publication to use when they want to stuff the cracks in their houses. At least, those houses still remaining...

Good one zatoichi. Clear the street; then make the delivery. They'd need to have 2 personnel to make collections tho. One on the gun to provide cover; the other to make contact with the subscriber.
