Asshat!

I saw Keith Olberman ask Kareem Abdul Jabber his thoughts on public health, when he was supposed to be discussing Kareem's cancer fight.

It was petty and sad.

"Equal Justice for All: Socialize Legal Care Now to Solve the Crisis!"

"America, the most litigious nation and the most-lawyered nation (per capita) in the world is burdened by a broken, and crushingly expensive system of legal care.

Few Americans can afford high-quality legal care at $500-$2000/hour when needed, and end up in legal clinics or representing themselves. Few, if any, have legal coverage. Legal costs sap profits from business in ways that are entirely unproductive. The poor, minorities, and women are, of course, most hard hit by the difficulty finding justice in a money-driven legal system, while the Mafia, politicians, and Wall Streeters skate and the lawyers drive Lexi and Mercedes in their Valentino and Armani suits.

There is no affordable justice in America today, and God knows how many bankruptcies, heartaches, and ruined lives result. It's unfair, unjust and un-American. 10% of American African-American youth rot in jail for lack of legal care while rich white guys like Bill Ayers are walking the street and hosting cocktail parties for politicians.

Just think about your annual direct and indirect legal care costs: they are included in your........"

"Equal Justice for All: Socialize Legal Care Now to Solve the Crisis!"

A funny concept, but it ignores the HUGE difference:

The government isn't on the hook to pay for Legal Care as its citizens get older.

Did Lisa mention that she misses Kanrei yet today?

Socialize Legal Care Now to Solve the Crisis!

Already exists. Called public defenders. But how about we socialize police services, or fire services, or road maintenance? Maybe socialistic library services so whiny online rightwingers can go suck on the public teat while waiting for their Socialist Security check to arrive?

But it is a warm sunny day and America hasn't failed, so righties have to find something to whine about and lefties have something to enjoy.

I have a good idea. Lets all sit in a circle and talk about unemployment like little o wants to do.

That's your "good idea" for the month?
Well, you've got another 19 days before the clock gets reset, plent of time to come up with...another really "good idea."

I think all members of Congress should be audited. If Randy "Duke" Cunnigham (R-California) is handed millions by a defense contractor, then I'm sure there's literally billions of dollars being diverted from job creation and instead lining the pockets of our "legislators". And, I'd do the same to all state representatives as well.

LOL

Darn you HC....I was just going to do that!!!

LMBO

Now I'll have to do something different....

I miss Kanrei! :(

Not at the moment. Did I miscount? Is it only 19 hours?

"Not at the moment."

Well, why not? Jeez, man.

I'm high on candy. Damned students trying to bribe me.

You grossly exaggerate.

It's true I'm on my laptop several hours during the day...I'm in the midst of writing a book. I pop on here when I need a break from it, time to time.

And today I'm taking the rest of the day as a break!!

Lol

But I won't be here all that time, dork!! : )

FREE KANREI!!!!!!!

I'll go along with that.

Besides, I'm tired of him charging $25 a pop!

We know CHAIRBORNE's history. Liar with a musty act

Hard to believe the guy is 40 years old. Acts 15

I thought a messiah complex was a prereq for the presidency?

But seriously, who else do they have?

Jerry,
You specifically called out NANC and told her to flag the posts. I don't think it takes a P.I. to figure it out.

It was me - you asked me to tarty-girl!

Hmmmmm...only been a member since March of this year and has that info.

Why are you hiding under a different name, Jerry???

Too cowardly?

You must be.

You only attack women.

Oh God, he's such a bore. He also has a decided right-wing slant, which he usually manages to barely conceal. Bring back Lou! At least everyone knew he was bonkers when it came to certain issues..

I've got a better one. We can all close our eyes and stomp our feet and say, no,no,no! Everything's was perfect until January 2009 because saint reagan was watching over us.

We'd be just like the Conservative party, without the teabags.

So what's Chairborne done lately that has half the retort railing against him?

Kanrei is on forced vacation?

I've gotten back to basics. Find the crazies, antagonize crazies, watch crazies get crazier.

The other half is mad at Manypaths!

Kanrei is on voluntary breath-holding.

"I'm in the midst of writing a book." - Lisa

I was just outside thinking how many books some of us have written on the DR one post at a time. Not that they would be any good, just in terms or words typed.

I don't think I want to know how many pages I have typed.

Kanrei is on forced vacation?

He should be turning purple about now......

"I've gotten back to basics. "

You mean you were holding back for a while? LOL.

"I don't think I want to know how many pages I have typed."

I wonder that too. That's the little favor rcade does for the gerbil, and us indirectly, by purging our posts after a certain period.

Oh G_d, Kanrei?!?!?!?!?
#54 | Posted by Manypaths

Yeah. He took a principled stand because he felt that the rules were different for this suspension.

Makes me feel a bit guilty because I posted the woman's picture that wisg had fun with.

That said, I can understand where rcade was coming from. Somebody from the real world decided to post here. I guess it's like when a teenage boy unexpectedly gets a visit from a girl and she sees the condition of his bedroom. A little embarrassing.

Not that I'm calling rcade a teenager or anything.

"Makes me feel a bit guilty because I posted the woman's picture that wisg had fun with."

Women causing trouble?! That figures. Nothing new under the sun, it's been happening since before cave paintings were put on this earth to record the earliest of human history. LOL!

Looks like several are going for a Guiness record for mass butt sniffing.

Left photo is of the human brain and the right photo is of the universe?

And, no, I didn't read the text either.

Sorry, Chris. Here's the full link:

Really interesting article, Nulli

...The high degree of connectivity is what sets the brain apart from an ordinary computer. Connectivity is also apparent in the cosmic web.

Galaxies are formed when filaments pinch or cross each other. A nexus of filaments (including thousands of tiny filamentary currents) will provide the connectivity for the transfer of not only energy but information from one galactic nucleus to another....

To think the universe and the galaxies all interconnect in the way the article stated -- not only energy but interconnect information! -- is fascinating.

BTW, Chris, your guess was right. Pure luck, I'm sure. ;)

Hey has anyone seen those ETRADE commercials with that adorable kid speaking like a grown up(OK I know it's a grown up speaking) isn't He just the damnedest cutest thing in the commercial advertising world?? I don't know about You but I think that little dude rocks.

Larry

Okay, DethSpud...

"The myriad of life-forms (including human beings) on Earth are in fact the many eyes and ears of the Earth."

Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world?

Good Link.

"Tell me about your mother."

Describe in single words only the good things that come to mind about ... your mother.

Let me tell you about my mother.

Thinking about a new life in the off-world colonies there, Chair?

BTW, Chris, your guess was right. Pure luck, I'm sure. ;)

More like pure intelligence, I'm sure. : )

Nulli -

Actually, don't you think this comment (see below) which I picked out from the article you linked in your post #67 adds at least some credibility to BuffaloBob's often scoffed at theory there is at least some form of alien life in outer space?

...Galaxies are formed when filaments pinch or cross each other. A nexus of filaments (including thousands of tiny filamentary currents) will provide the connectivity for the transfer of not only energy but information from one galactic nucleus to another....

According to the article's theory, it's not only energy being transferred but actual information too. So some believability should be given to the existence of a higher level of alien lifeform in our galaxies in order to have the intelligence level to actually analyze and transfer information. Yes? I'd like to know more about these "filiments." Are they really only "filiments" or could they be a higher life form in outer space?

Nulli --

Re my #75 -

I'm afraid I didn't do a very good job in getting across exactly what I meant when talking about "connectivity for the transfer of not only energy but information" opening up the possibility for there being alien life forms in outer space.

I just felt that to transfer information among the galaxies it would take a higher form of intelligence -- hence the possibility of some type of space alien capable of intelligence at that level. Unless by "intelligence" your article was referring to something different than I took it to mean.

I wish I was able to express myself in more scientific terms but I'm not very good at it. Hopefully you may know what I'm trying to get across?

"According to the article's theory"

It's just a theory, highly speculative. Take it with a grain of salt. It's fun stuff, though. Mind-expanding, you might say.

I must be nuttier than a fruitcake. I am here watching the Golden Girls. THE GOLDEN GIRLS. G-d I miss My old Ladies in My Family. Damn would be nice to get a cookie or a swat on the ass You know.

Larry

I am here watching the Golden Girls. THE GOLDEN GIRLS

Just a piece of advice: Never take copious amounts of peyote and lsd and let someone flip the channels between The Golden Girls and porn. The resulting visions can only be described as a sweatty, wrinkled hell.

Nextlevel,
What happened? It looks like Rcade banned your second handle.
You must realize of course that I fucking own you, right? It should have been apparent the first time.

Rcade,
Why not publicly out the clown? It seems obvious to me it was AmericanversionVan, but perhaps you could fill us in?

CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH AN ANSWER ON MEASURING A BICYCLE?

I may put my (stupid) question up again when the Friday Nooner shows up but could use some help now.

I put my Schwinn bike up for sale a couple days ago on Craig's List and got this email today --

If the bike is still available would you mind telling me how large the frame is? I am 5' 4" and need a bicycle that isn't too tall.

Thanks!

What exactly does she mean by "frame"? Where do I measure it?

From the top of the handlebars down to where the wheels hit the ground?

From the top of the bicycle seat down to where the wheels hit the ground?

From the end of the front wheel to the end of the back wheel?

HELP and thanks.

Let's see, I got two dumps.

I'm thinking either Chris,n.a.n.c, Muffy or lisa.

I told you before, JT, I don't waste my time flagging you. You should know me by now, if I have something to say, or you said something I didn't like, I don't hestitate to get in your face about it -- then and there. I don't do it behind your back with stupid flags.

In fact I don't flag people other than funny flags. And you are funny -- sometimes. You have a weird sense of humor I find amusing at times. : ) Hmm, what's that say about me?

can I pick what you put in my face?
