Senate Health Bill Covers Faith Healing

A provision in the Senate's health care overhaul bill would require insurers to consider covering Christian Science prayer treatments as medical expenses. The provision is included in a version of the bill drafted by the health committee and Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is considering whether to include it in the consolidated bill he will send to the Senate floor.

at the moment my carrier doesnt pay for annual exam which doesnt make much sense since it will help keep me well..

but thats no excuse to have the sect of HHS deciding what insurance is the ONE IM required to pay for.

You ever read the gnostic gospels, corky? In the Gospel of Mary Magdelene, Jesus refuses to perform an elective demon expulsion procedure because the patient wasn't adequately insured. What about Accupuncture and TCM? Ayurveda? Native American Medicine?

How about this for something healthy that they could stuff into their stupid bill(s):

BAN all foods made with artificial ingredients.

REQUIRE five hours of aerobic sport from every adult every week.

REMOVE all advertising for all prescription drugs from every media channel, print and electronic.

I could list about a dozen more having to do with children.

But, naaaaah... we're not actually interested in HEALTH here, we just want something else to bitch about, as usual. Oh, and the chance to pander to one demographic or another :-P

The fear from the Health Insurance Companies is that the government option WILL be cheaper and better and thus actually force the Insurance Companies to compete.

Actually, private schools would love to have all the children coming to their schools in exchange for money. Instead, the kids go to public school that's free.

Private schools lost money because the kids can go for free. The price of private education went up.

The cost per student for public school compared to private school? The quality of education?

The importance on education. When I was in a private school, at the end of the day we all left to go home. With us went our schoolbags loaded with our books and homework.

I spent one semester in a public school. I was tossed out by my private school for my petrous behavior. The amount of school books and homework going home was drastically less.

The next day in both school? The private school kids did their homework. The public school- -did they even bother asking to see if anyone did it?

Yes, some of it is an issue with the parents -but it is also the kids.

When I went back to private school, after promising to listen to the teachers whom I thought were quite stupid with their homework assignments, I found myself behind in my education.

Lessons learned.
