Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Paul Krugman: Last Thursday there was a rally outside the U.S. Capitol to protest pending health care legislation, featuring the kinds of things we've grown accustomed to, including large signs showing piles of bodies at Dachau with the caption "National Socialist Healthcare." It was grotesque and it was also ominous. For what we may be seeing is America starting to be Californiafied.

if Tea Party Republicans do win big next year...

It will be because America is truly a center right country

That and the fact that PrezBo is losing support from moderates and independednts by the millions...
.

the fact that PrezBo is losing support...

doesn't necessarily mean that they are all turning to support of Tea Partiers. I think that the Tea Partiers are mostly a fracture of the Republicans.

Repubs Can Make Country Ungovernable

Paul Krugman:

Kru, we don't want to be lead around like a bunch of lemmings lik you libs do. We believe in freedom, not being taken care of from womb to toomb.

Now that you have free health care for all, what is next? Cars, Homes, Big screen TVs? What do you want to give away now?

This shows how ill informed the "Tea Party" folks are:

just curious sniper, do you consider America to be the greatest country in the world?

If so by what do you measure that?

Kru, we don't want to be lead around like a bunch of lemmings lik you libs do. We believe in freedom, not being taken care of from womb to toomb.

freedom for the rich that is.

you poor and middle class people are the peasants who have no freedom.

free to work where you want? Go ahead and quit your job if you are lucky to have one, see how fast you can find another.

free from want? HA!

Freedom from fear? Double HA!

"Kru, we don't want to be lead around like a bunch of lemmings lik you libs do. We believe in freedom, not being taken care of from womb to toomb."

Here are your lemmings (whom the video proves don't know what they're talking about):

Ill informed Lemmings: www.youtube.com

Especially by Democrats. Dems are really stupid.

After 8 years of Bush, its clear the republicans couldn't govern if they wanted to.

It's almost like the America hating right, in 2000, looked upon a country running a surplus, winning wars and leading the world and said, "This is terrible. Who can we elect that would fail at everything?".

Then they did.

Tea Party Republicans are neither the party of Limbaugh or Beck...those two are simply jumping on the bandwagon and distancing themselves from neocons as much as possible.

Dems are really stupid.

Clearly you've absolutely no idea how funny that sounds coming from you.

"PrezBo" just doesn't cut it, whoever you are.

Ungovernable or Un-Rule-able.

"you poor and middle class people are the peasants who have no freedom."

Thanks in large to Democrat policies!

#1... Orwell's 1984 here we come.

where's that gun store again?

#3, define "center right".

this may help:
www.theadvocates.org

seriously what is your "center right?" lay out those positions.

^.^

Gotta luv it when the Krugmeister comes out with another load of BS for Dems to roll around in. At the very least, come up with a economist/sociologist who is not a shill for someone...

Perhaps then we can take his or her arguments straight, without doubling over in laughter...

JEB

An impotent Congress would be the best possible thing that could happen to this country. Then the States could regain their Constitutional authority and do away with the tyranny of the Federal government.

Go ahead and quit your job if you are lucky to have one, see how fast you can find another.

I've had 17 jobs in my 40+ year career and could have another any time I want. Luck has nothing to do with it. Making myself employable as a priority in my life has everything to do with it.

Why do many of you here think that the Tea Party (anti govt spending) protests are just Republicans? I do believe that some Democrats also have common sense.

The point is that the takeover of the Republican Party by the irrational right is no laughing matter. Something unprecedented is happening here -- and it's very bad for America.

There not irrational. There just not in power at the moment. They lost power because they lost the confidence of the conservatives. We put them in the dessert, not you. When their ready, we'll let them cross the river. This is not unprecedented and it is only bad for the left because Americans are a rather insubordinate group and are hard to rule.

"Now that you have free health care for all, what is next? Cars, Homes, Big screen TVs? What ... now?"

Sniper may not know that we don't have health care yet, but Sniper is surely among those who thinks THEY are coming for him - his .45s, his SUVs, even his Viagra if that ois sold in a styrofoam container. herm

What truly will make the country ungovernable is if people actually start to listen to Krugman.

What happened in California is - THEY RAN OUT OF MONEY.!

That is the problem with Socialism ..sooner or later you run out of other peoples money...and except for running the printing presses...the Government does not produce any wealth to be spread around. They just do the spreading and taking, no producing.

Without production to match the spending you get inflation and in our case it will be massive. 10% unemployment and gas will be at 3.50 a gallon, gold will be at 1500 and food will be up 20%.

As for this "health care" bill...you will be paying $3500 in EXTRA TAXES (what happen to the tax decrease for everyone except those making 250K?) for the next 4 years to pay for it!

So...Higher Taxes, Higher cost for everything, no jobs and weak growth....Welcome to Obamaland

He has mastered talking out his rump, cause hir mouth knows better. I should say, he has mastered talking out his ass.

"the G.O.P. has been taken over by the people it used to exploit"

So true. But WHY is the leadership so scared? And who will lead these cowards? Palin? Maybe she needs to storm the capitol in a helicopter, rounding up her fellow conservatives like a bunch of fearful dogs.

Go ahead and quit your job if you are lucky to have one, see how fast you can find another.

Redman, dumbasses like wouldn't know truth if it knocked him over think they should be allowed to sit on their ass until the perfect job comes along. they have a sense they are entitled to do just that and government provides the means to do so through unemployment compensation.

Lately I've been thinking about getting my employer to fire me so I can collect unemployment compensation while I wait for my turn on the space shuttle opens up.

Not quite, we are governed by Corporate America. Politicians posing as our Representatives kowtow to their International Ponzi Scheme, based on labor arbitrage, sending the country into collapse so that a few hundred could pocket trillions. It worked exactly as planned, lost jobs, bailouts, deficits and everything.

The only tactic the Republicans and their ilk have left is to attempt to destroy the administration. They are too selfish and short-sighted to understand that that will destroy them too.

They are betting the whole ball of wax on the Sarah Palin brand of old-fashioned "Real America" that has been dying out for the last fifty years.

But then they believe in the Day of Judgement anyhow so they are OK with that. I say fuck their selfish ignorance.

unemployed good luck finding a job and just getting worse not better!

I'll take another cup of tea please.
There ain't no way the Repugs could do any worse than obuma and all those record number of Racist cabinet members, and Czars him and pislosi have appointed to blood suck the country dry, a complete duffus could run this country much better...

Dear Krugg-Hammm:

Smart guys like me have learned that the game is over. There is no shining white knight political party coming to the rescue. The Demorats are insane welfare pimps. The Republirats are insane babysit the world globalists. Spare me your-this party good, that party bad crap, both are pathetic. There are millions of guys like me who are sooo sickened by the way this country is going, AND THEY KNOW IT IS BOTH PARTIES (AND THE US AMERITARD'S) FAULT.

PS: yes I support 3 strikes and your dead!

RELEASE ALL PUNDITS!

And I suppose Krugman??? is some kind of prophet? It can just as easily be said "Democrats have made the country into a big mess"... see, so easy to just say things. Harder to do things... hence the ZERO.

Yes, but only a minor prophet, since their messiah is running the show.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 788 times, I must be a democrat

"It can just as easily be said "Democrats have made the country into a big mess"...

It can be said but it would still be bull shit.
30 years of Reaganomics and the politics of hate, division and fear have brought us to where we are.

The tea party movement will collapse under the weight of the cowardice of its leaders. You can lead the lemmings to the precipice but at some point you have to jump. The Glen Becks and other provocatuers of this astroturf movement lack the courage of their convictions.
The Tea Party's Over.

Unfortunately I have to agree with Krugman. What the conservative movement has tried to do was a total failure and now that they no longer have the podium, all they can do is become obstructionists. It is the worst possible situation for democracy. When half the country is afraid to move on and try something new, we are all doomed to mediocrity like the last administration.

Democracy must accept the ideals of majority rule or there can be no democracy, only fascism or a dictatorship can govern the masses without bipartisan cooperation. These tea party fools will never be able to defend their homeland or administer justice to themselves. That takes social cooperation of a much higher level. Why do you think all militaries are socialist dictatorships?

...ungovernable?"

Krugman's "economy" already took care of that. The more pertinent question is: can republicans or anybody else fix it?

When half the country is afraid to move on and try something new

Just maybe half the country is happy with the way things are and don't want them changed.

just curious sniper, do you consider America to be the greatest country in the world?

If so by what do you measure that?

Our freedom makes this the best country. It is too bad that we are loosing the freedoms that I hold so dear.

The ability that we have to improve our lives by the fruit of our labor is being stripped away as we slide toward socalism.

Socalism has not worked anywhere in the world. Europe is becoming more conservative. We are trashing the system that has made our country the greatest nation on earth. We are slowly sliding toward becoming a third world country.

You cannot make the lazy people in the world productive or well-to-do by taking from the people that do produce wealth.

What we did to the American Indians with welfare in the late 1800s should be a lesson well learned today but....... hell no!! We are creating more reservations for Mexicans and Negros so they can join the plight of the Indian. WOW!!!!!

if Tea Party Republicans do win big next year, what has already happened in California could happen at the national level. In California, the G.O.P. has essentially shrunk down to a rump party with no interest in actually governing but that rump remains big enough to prevent anyone else from dealing with the state's fiscal crisis.

Krugman can't be serious. What happened in California is due to the democratic legislature. The only thing the few republicans could do is slow down the full rush to destruction. Much like Nancy, Harry and Barry are doing now on a national level.

This article is just a distraction.

#45. Yes.

thats right you prick..

gop WILL HOPEFULLY ruin the dems plan to takeover and create another entitlement with the hopes of power forever
as outlined by cassidy in the new yorker
so he is right..the gop WILL make country ungovernable for DEMS........

HEY KRUGMAN

maybe you can find another company like enron and consult them right before they cheat people out of billions.

"can republicans or anybody else fix it?"

They are the one's who broke it with thirty years of Reaganomics trickle down voo doo economics.
Krugman has agrued against that for years but we still haven't really changed anything.

Foshitter:
How easily you forgot 2006-2008!

Let me refresh your memory:
Gas at $5 a gallon;
food prices up 30%
massive inflation
Bush in 2002: "The Euro will never equal the dollar."
Reality in 2008: The Euro = 1.30 USD

So...Higher city and state "user fees" (that's TAXES for you, shit-for-brains), Higher cost for everything, lost millions of jobs and NO gropwth growth....That was BUSH LAND

Looks like someone is inflating the inflation numbers ti sweeten their koolaid.............
