With the establishment of government-mandated death panels just days away, grandmothers began fleeing the United States in record numbers today, reports Fox News.

Fuckin' hilarious--they're fleeing... to CANADA? Isn't Canada the paragon of failed socialized medicine. Methinks there is some confusion here.

And besides, if someone can afford to just pull up stakes and move, might we not conclude that they can afford premium healthcare right here at home.

Relax, everyone, relax...this monstrosity passed the House by two squeaky votes and I understand one of them at least..Cooper of TN...is dead meat. The bill has a long way to go. Even though Pelosi sold the farm to convince SOME of the Blue Dogs, I don't think there are too many in the Senate wanting to commit Hari Kari by defying their constituents.

Medicare and Medicaid were part of the Social Security Act of 1965. That bill passed the House by a vote of 307-116 and in the Senate by 70-24.

House (307-116) and Senate (70-24).

At that time -- after the thumping the GOP took in the 1964 election (LBC v. AuH2O) -- the party breakdown in the Democratic-controlled Congress was 295-140 in the House and 68-32 in the Senate.
